Support Staff Unproffesional
Pros: Newegg's shipping was fast and things were packed well. While the router is BIG it has a strong signal and set up of PCs very easy, BUT... My product rating is a 5 but because of tech support I am giving a 1.
Cons: The ASUS support staff was Totally UNPROFESSIONAL. After setting up two PCs and a printer I had difficulty in setting up 2 Tivo units. After contacting my ISP provider and Tivo I called ASUS in Indiana. Before calling ASUS I filled out one of their online service reports. When I called multiple times the phone was just put down and the music played for 15-20 minutes when they said they were transferring me to a level 2 person. Twice after waiting I hung up and called back patiently explaining the problem. The third time when T+++t answered he said everyone was busy and asked if they could call back. I said, yes and told him we had talked before and that no one had yet been of help. I did not complain about the open phones. It has been over 48 hours and NO call from ASUS. I was able to solve the problem by deleting everything. I used the windows 7 setup NOT the ASUS set up or what the ASUS reps were telling me to do.
Overall Review: This is my first negative review in over 25 years of purchasing/building/setting up PCs, Printers, Modems, Routers and other ancillary electronic items. Less than 5% of the time a call to customer service is needed. When this happens we all are used to the waits, the challenges of cutting through the accents and sometimes the total lack of knowledge. Before this everyone I talked with always had acted in a professional manner. Sadly, the ASUS router tech support people in Indiana are out of control.
