The board has good feature set for the money
Pros: The board has a high quality VRM (look up Buildzoids review) -RGB Fusion makes it easy to setup lighting, although more limited than some competitors. That said I like the you can set, in the BIOS, that all lighting switches off when the computer is sleeping; even the case power LED shuts off, a simple but great feature. -Backwards compatible with 8th Gen CPU (Running an 8700k in it) -Lots of IO if you have a lot of external devices - The back LEDs light up the rear IO, makes finding them much easier.
Cons: - The system wouldn't even get to the BIOS screen until I plugged an HDMI cable into the IGP port on the motherboard, before that it boot looped endlessly and ignored the GTX 1080, with a known to be working, display port cable attached. Hopefully future BIOS updates will fix this so people don't think there is something wrong with their motherboard or GPU. The manual doesn't say anything about needing to connect to an IGP first to make it work. -SATA ports fall under any modestly sized GPU, so if you want to add or remove drives you need to remove the GPU first. This is common, but still kind of annoying.
Good CMR drives
Pros: - Cost per GB isn't outrageous - Not noisy, for a HDD - Not SMR - Good for external RAID drives
Cons: - Short warranty
Overall Review: These seem like good NAS drives, I ordered two and they both worked without any trouble. Never had a WD drive go out on me, so hopefully that trend continues. The two Red Plus drives are setup in an external RAID1 case and used for archiving important data, and so far they are doing that job without a hitch. I cannot say much about the performance, but they do have decent transfer rates, and don't get overly warm even when being written to for hours at a time, seems good given that they are 5400rpm drives.
Good drive with lots of storage
Pros: - Largish storage capacity - Good read and writes speeds for an HDD - Not overly loud
Cons: - As of yet nothing
Overall Review: I've only had the 6TB WD Black a few months now, but the drive has been trouble free for that time. I read the reviews about this drive being loud, was a little worried, but it really isn't any louder than any other 7200rpm HDD I've had, in fact it is one of the quieter HDDs in my system (I have 4 HDDs). It's quieter than the 1TB WD Black I got 10 years ago, so it's really not that bad! If you think this is loud, I'm going to assume you haven't used any of the older generations of HDDs. Read and writes are more than fast enough for my purpose (storing my RAW format photos and video files). I'm seeing speeds regularly over 200MB/s (closer to 300MB/s) with large files, so I'm satisfied. Buying an HDD for speed is a mistake, these are storage drives.
One Of The Best SATA SSDs avalible today
Pros: - TLC Flash memory - Fast (for a SATA drive) - Minimal packaging, less waste
Cons: - Samsung's cloning software could be better, this doesn't matter because there is better stuff out there anyway
Overall Review: Not much to say that hasn't been said before, just about everyone knows this is one of the best SATA SSDs on the market by now. It is fast, has good capacity and is dead quiet like any SATA SSD. I haven't had much luck with Samsung's cloning software in the past, there are better options out there, but didn't need it with this drive anyway. If you want to keep track of the drive heath Samsung's software will do that for you.
Good Memory With Simple RGB Controls
Pros: - Good Samsung (in my lot anyway) memory, no trouble at all with getting rated speed - Easy to Control Lighting with Corsair Software - Light is well defused, with minimum hot-spots
Overall Review: Another good set of RAM sticks from Corsair, this time around I received a set with Samsung dies. No trouble reaching XMP rated speed in my Z390 board with 8700k. It was easy to get the lighting setup in Corsair's software, and there are lots of options.
A good option for a SATA SSD
Pros: - A quality SATA SSD - Fast enough any general purpose computing/storage needs
Cons: Nothing at this time
Overall Review: A high quality SATA SSD, that performs about the same as the other two mainstream brands that actually make their own flash memory and sell drives. More than good enough for any general purpose computing needs.
