Pros: This camera is fantastic. However, like others have said it can get heavy. The body isn't that heavy. But put a 'L" lens on and it turns into a monster that everyone loves to look at when I am working. If you are going hiking by a back pack. Also while buying get the batter pack and an extra batter. Don't forget, this camera takes big photos. Buy the 16 Extreme III CF card by Sandisk. Put a little extra money into a good tripod. The software that comes with the camera is very good. Photoshop CS4 is recommended. The video is very nice. It looks as good as my XL-1S (oldie). Don't sell your video camera! They mention it is noisy. That noise is not going to scare a bird away or make a bride drop her flowers. As for the comments on the short batter life, I disagree totally. The battery last long enough to shoot 300+ photos RAW.

Cons: Other then the comments regarding manual focus I haven't found anything wrong with this camera. I'm happy with it.

Overall Review: When you purchase the camera buy the body and add quality 'L' lenses. You won't regret it. Pricey? Yes! If you are spending 3K for this body it wants a good lens. Think ahead before you make your purchase. Remember the buy the little extras. That battery back makes the camera easier to hold. I carry two primary lenses with an doubler. They are a 35X350mm zoom (not made anymore) and a 17X35 zoom. If I want 50-58mm from the 35mm I can use the doubler. It works great. Keep it clean! I set the dust remover to manual. Pros: Good construction handles the load indicated. However never use more then 300 watt with it. Also you can mount the thing under the hood and run an external connector to the inside like I did. Anything that will be used to operate over 175 watt should not be connected to the lighter outlet. This thing should be hard wired for max performance. I cut the plug off but not recommended for most people. It works okay for the average person.

Cons: Noise from fan is a bit more then needed. You can put a different fan it but of course destroys the warranty. I put a low noise fan in that I had sitting around the office. Can hardly hear it and it actually out performs the original in air volume.

Overall Review: Company needs to change out the fan with one that is quiet.

Pros: Excellent 1080 Screen. I can't think of any problems. I'm using Vista Ultimate. I dumped my Dell for this product and as long as ASUS continues to build this kind of quality, I say good-bye to DELL after 20 years of using their products.

Cons: Documentation is only fair. Some programs have to be re-downloaded for Vista Ultimate but no problem. When installing don't for get to get the other disk and install the drivers for the little things.

Overall Review: I bought a 160 Gig Hitachi 7200 hard drive for it. Transferred the data with Apricorn EZ UP. Tested the temp and it isn't but 2 degrees higher. The 7200 HD makes a worthwhile difference.
