SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC064D/AM 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit
SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC064D/AM 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit

Pros: great feel, well made. i had put this in a amd brazos e 350 lenovo B-575 laptop that was not so great under sandforce. i dont get the sata 3 speeds HOWEVER this is not a samsung issue it is a across the board sata 3 lenovo on brazos issue.the ssd is the best one i ever tested.flawless 100%.my experence with this is better then sandforce threw and threw but the brazos on lenovo is something i cant seem to nail down,it not the sata 3 vs sata 2 chipset as brazos has 3+3 because it happens in a x120 with the A50M.the more i use this the more i love this sdd and i have had many.boot times range from 22-28 reported by lenovo boot tool.on sandy bridge this ssd should wail like a banshe.there must be some hidden lock holding back full speed on brazos in lenovo but by all means it no way slow.very very nice clean feel to it with no turbo lag at all.buy it 100% worth the price without the extra software, thats is such a bonus and you will smile when you see the box.samsung went out there way.

Cons: wont make my coffee taste better. samsung you get 99.999% from me and i tested alot of ssd over the last 3 years.

Overall Review: i was mad at first when i spent hours working the what chipset is it and why no 350 plus speeds,i looked at power settings and every known tweek to man.it sad when a chip maker makes a sata 3 chipset and it fails to live up to that standard.mayby it amd e-350 just dont push it,mayby it the A45 and i dont see it.mayby it some lenovo hidden bios this but iy NOT samsung that for sure.but i am still happy.it might not show it in the benchmark but the feel is outstanding!this 7mm height is a new format for the new notebooks, some allready have it such as lenovo X1,and you stuck with a slow intel choice, this works there.but it you wont be sorry.

Most Critical Review

missing the brackets

HIS Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 Low Profile Ready Graphics Card H545H512
HIS Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 Low Profile Ready Graphics Card H545H512

Pros: good price

Cons: came with bent main bracket. missing the low profile pair. new egg chat offer to see if the warehouse had some. not what i expect to hear. then offer me a slight discount to go buy local. again not what i expect of new egg. i expect they make it right. not a mayby.

Overall Review: hmm i was unsure if i should buy this card at mc when the brackets were missing that shows on the box,on new egg web page on his web page i was like whats this. but the chat i had with new egg ticked me off alot as they did not offer to make good. new egg has been hit or miss alot now. mayby it the ressesion. mayby it alot of things but mayby dont cut it with me. i expect what i paid for not a we go see and mayby we send you it. new egg you need to dump that guy who said mayby. this is not the time to be handing out customer maybys. i dont blame HIS as this can happen. i dont expect new egg to cheack every box. i do expect you make things right when there not and not try to find a easy way out. i would have a talk with you surport team and get everyone on the same page.

slow speed in laptop.

SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC064D/AM 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit

Pros: 3/4 height. solid case design. norton ghost and ssd toolbox software. desktop bracket.

Cons: 255/140 speeds in my lenovo B575 E350 brazos laptop. this is less then older samsung model speed. chipset is a M1 sata 3 so there no reason it should not run near full speed. i dont expect the same exact speed as a desktop with a i7 as most reviews are based on but i do expect it to be faster then the sandforce adata it replaced. i am waiting on a email from samsung surport so that be the real test.

Overall Review: the software samsung ssd magician looks really nice. has tweeks for the os.overpostion,a self mode, firmware in both usb and windows update mode and complete pc data with export. and also norton ghost and clone options aswell. it feels more snappy now alot better feel then a sandforce. the sandforce ran a solid 260 but was kinda power hungry and alittle twitchy, many installs probley. i am looking into why it slow on a brazos laptop with proper power settings and i used even the newest amd sata driver .301 as well as the older one and msachi. if the M4 are not effected by this then it a real letdown for this really nice design. mayby it just too new or mayby its lenovo or mayby it defective drive. some feedback from samsung would be great.

horible

SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC064D/AM 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit

Pros: pretty box,3/4 height,comes with bracket,cables,software.

Cons: first it failed to install updates in windows over and over. very every slow update install time, win 7x64 usb key was 15 mins normal ssd install time. 250 read,150 write by both atto and samsung bench on a lenovo B575 E 350 brazos notebook, the MC brand adata ssd did far better it was to replace,i do alot of ssd testing and installs/over 100 W7 install plus i done beta on ssd from way back and beta on win 7 so i say i am pretty expert here. horible performance,i bought this as sandforce are power hungry.i am so let down wih this i should just went with a M4.

Overall Review: whats up with the DHL snail mail?why change a good thing new egg? both the msachi and the amd achi driver had same results DOG SLOW! so you know this is the M1 chipset that sata 3 not the D1 sata 2 so there no reason this should not open up. new egg can you send me a swap please to be sure it not one bad drive.

great deal

ADATA 4GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model AD2U800C4G6
ADATA 4GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model AD2U800C4G6

Pros: was 125-150 for a 4 gig mod. got it 100 clams.......sweet. thanks new egg now if you could get intel to do a price drop on lga 775 quad S cpu that be great.

Cons: it wont change the channel.

Overall Review: adata i was unsure of but reviews made me take the leap. 100 bucks sold me. i used this in a foxconn r40-d4 single slot barebone. i fliped out the 667 1 gig i used before i have 3 years. it was time win 7 ult had some decent mem and i also tossed in a his 5450 but the brackets were missing. lets see if new egg makes that right. 3 days shiping i paid 1.99 ship for both. nice deal but you know ram is not cheap these days. mayby cause the ram makers have so many govt lawsuits from price fixing. adata makes ssd as well and many diff controllers so i be looking at this comapny alot. i done testing for another ssd company i wont say but adata is worth a look people. even with the mighty OCZ.

decent htpc

Foxconn R40-G4 Intel Socket T(LGA775) Intel G41 Barebone
Foxconn R40-G4 Intel Socket T(LGA775) Intel G41 Barebone

Pros: cheap, no htpc sold can match it unless it a h55 chips and that means double min price. icore cpu cost way more then a a lga 775 so it a great pc for 200-400 bucks.

Cons: the power surply makes alot of noise. i might upgrade to a 80 plus or rework it. has only one ram slot and single band but not a biggie there as dual tends to run the chipset very hot.

Overall Review: i added a 4 gig adata chip for $100 to replace the 667 1 gig chip i had on hand when i built it. i also now added a HIS 5450 512 ddr3 vid card but the low profile brackets were missing and new egg gave me the run around on that. lets see if they make it right. new egg shiped in 3 days again i had this for a while running on 120 ssd it a great buy when i added a e3300 for $40 now there like $50 plus. great cheap pc really. a might add a quad S model later on but there like 325-350 bucks and i might go with a sandforce ssd over my barefoot. there a h55 barebones for 40 bucks more but when you factor in a icore vs a celeron that another 50 as well. ps i had this running for allmost a year on 1 gig of 667 on win 7 ult no issues my org build was $150.
