decent card

VisionTek Radeon HD 3650 1GB DDR2 AGP 8X Video Card 900284
VisionTek Radeon HD 3650 1GB DDR2 AGP 8X Video Card 900284

Pros: +1 GIG,725 Mhz. +Runs high textures and high res like nothing. +AGP! +supports new shader technology.

Cons: -Very and I mean VERY hard to find a driver for.It took me a couple of months before I could find a working driver, but I finally found one.I'm currently using CAT 10.10(not the agp hot fix, just the plain pci-e driver)along with the catalyst socket A patch specifically for an old socket A motherboard that I use(Athlon xp 2800+)and also the n-force2 5.10 unified chipset driver from nvidia.I have had no blue screens since. This is the only working config for this card and my athlon xp,every other config I've tried results in either poor performance or blue screens. -Likes to overheat sometimes and dispay artifacts.I cure this by running slighty lower detail than recomended. After about an hour of playing TF2 it starts to over heat with everything maxed(res,aa,everything)if I lower the res one notch it doesn't do it.No problems in the L4D's and Half life 1+2.

Overall Review: This card is pretty good when you finally get it working. It's probably about twice as good as my 9800 pro that it replaced. It could use better cooling. Not the gpu itself but rather the memory chips that like to get hot.The gpu actually runs pretty cool(about 55 deg durring the heat of the moment in L4D2).This card is also not supported by ATI,that's why it is so hard to find a driver. Some mother boards you have to install the agp hot fix driver,I was able to install the pci-e version from ati's website even though I have AGP and now I have a signed driver yay!Don't overclock it because it already has some heat issues(Its already fast enough for AGP any way).I'm using a 450 watt power supply and it's more than enough.

G.SKILL Value Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX

Pros: Looks awesome,works.

Cons: Can't get these sticks to run as advertised (400 Mhz.)Bios shows 333 Mhz. no matter what (not overclocked). My old Patriots with the exact same timing AND latency (cl2-3-2-5 and 2.7 volts) run @ 400 Mhz. with no configuration what so ever. So, I either plug in the Patriots and get 400 Mhz. instantly,or....plug in the Gskills and get 333 Mhz.I emailed tech support so I'll see what they say.Just don't know why the Patriots are plug'n'play but the Gskills are not( they are both the exact same specs!?)I'm starting to think that mine was mislabled ): oh well...I can only wait for a response from gskill, maybe they can help me and I'll up my rating. Also I live in Arizona and my shipment came from California, but for some reason my order was mis sent to New York!It finally arrived ten days after I ordered it.The tracking info could've also been incorrect at the time. Also this RAM is very, very expensive and in my opinion not worth that amount of money.

Overall Review: I should have bought a new machine. If you're thinking of getting this RAM don't waste your money.Get the cheap stuff to keep you going while you save for a new machine.I was so sure and spent days researching RAM and different specs and finally found the RAM that match my old RAM exactly(both brands have cl2-3-2-5 timing and 2.7 volts)and still no joy.Keep in mind these sticks work well, they just don't run as advertised.I'm using an old DELL gx270 , mobo has 800Mhz. FSB.CPU is 2.8 Ghz. HT.
