Works flawlessly in Linux
Pros: CSR chipset, best support in Linux, class 1 device, cheap
Cons: none
Overall Review: The ultimate bluetooth dongle.
Pros: Works better than advertised: even comes with a Mini->Full size adapter, which is not mentioned in the description
Cons: None? Could be faster, maybe? Rated at 6MB/s, but some smaller cards go 20MB/s or faster.
Pros: Works well as a bridge.
Cons: WDS requires support from main router
Overall Review: I needed a bridge to connect a non-wireless computer to my wireless network without having to worry about drivers. Hence, I was looking for a bridge. I was deciding between this device and the D-Link DWL-G730AP. The latter also has routing (share a broadband connection) capabilities and is pocketable (take it with you on vacation kind of thing). I decided in favor of this Netgear box, because I didn't think I necessarily needed a pocket router but I thought the WDS capability might come in handy in the future. In particular, WDS allows you to extends the range of an existing wireless network - this device would basically act as a repeater. However, what I didn't know is that the main router needs to support WDS also. As a result, the WDS functionality is of no use to me and I wish I had gotten the D-Link instead... Oh well, you never stop learning.
