Price is at a sweet spot

ASUS GeForce GT 240 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A
ASUS GeForce GT 240 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A

Pros: +Very low power consumption (9W idle 41W load according to a review) +Decent performance (many compares with 9600 GT) +At high settings I get 30 frames at games I play. I don't need faster frame rates. +I get Windows Experience 6.6 (from 3.1 of G31) ASUS build quality with quiet fan

Cons: -Could have been better if 512M GDDR5 version was at this price point

Overall Review: It runs in my HP 6120 desktop which runs on LITEON 250W PSU with E5300 CPU. I loaded with Need4Speed at highest settings for hours, and I don't even hear fan noise. Paid $61 after 10% coupon + $20 rebate and free shipping. Simply there isn't better option for weak PSU for light gaming. It is good for HTPC with HDMI 1.3a full spec.

Runs StarCraft II Beta

ASUS GeForce GT 240 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A
ASUS GeForce GT 240 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A

Pros: - Has enough power to run modest 3D games - Uses minimal power when idle - Computing power over consumption is the best among the league - Cheap (I bought it at $60 after rebate and newegg 10% discount coupon) - ASUS build quality (I like quiet fan, nice connectors)

Cons: - Pay $5 more and you get DDR5

Overall Review: Bought this to play StarCraft II. I didn't need an overkill graphic card but I wanted to buy one I won't regret after 1 year. Also I wanted to use it on 300W LITEON power supply that came in HP desktop.

Perfect for 1080p mkv

ASUS Radeon HD 3450 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card EAH3450 SILENT/DI/512MD2
ASUS Radeon HD 3450 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card EAH3450 SILENT/DI/512MD2

Pros: Large heat sink works fine for video decoding without noisy fan. Hardware Acceleration for H.264 especially when combined with CoreAVC codec. AMD cheap single core LE-1660 can run 1080p mkv at 40-60% cpu. (Without HA, CPU ran 100% at 3.0GHz OC but still got lagging audio)

Cons: Takes two bay but this is not really a con because it means a larger heat sink. At the moment I bought this, free shipping wasn't offered.

Overall Review: Takes two bay and the rear panel has grill pattern exactly matching with my Lian Li case. Looks beautiful but who cares!

Snappy response

D-Link Xtreme Gigabit Router (DIR-655) Wireless N300, USB SharePort, Gigabit
D-Link Xtreme Gigabit Router (DIR-655) Wireless N300, USB SharePort, Gigabit

Pros: [Performance with legacy G] I agree with other reviewers; even with G adapters, I could feel heaven and hell difference. I was blaming my ISP for no reason. It was my netgear 614 which was doing the bottleneck. This DIR-655 is simply providing home network infrastructure. My wife is watching TV through internet on one computer and I'm copying video file over wireless while downloading files from internet. [Setting] I used the same setting I used for my old netgear for WPA-Personal. My notebook computers seamlessly worked after changing the router. For some reason I have to use dedicated DNS to improve responsiveness from my ISP, and it was so easy to find from the admin page. One thing is that for one of my desktop, I had to disable IPv6. I think it's my computer which had something with it. [Look] The blue LED's are not really that hurtfully bright. Anyway I'm keeping it behind my TV. Over all it does not give any cheap look, but netgear makes prettier cas

Cons: Still expensive. But it's not really a con because it does it's job better than higher priced units which is priceless.

Overall Review: I suddenly realize how bad a router can be. All unstable routers has to be sorted out by reviewers and should not be sold at all.

Deserve putting ASUS sticker

ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: 4 memory slots for a microATX. DVI for the price. Good manual. Strong bios. This is perfect motherboard for HT system in the living room. I tend to keep the pc on for uninterrupted network streaming (you know what I mean), and needed a low power solution. This matches with LE-1600 CPU and runs on very low power since I don't need extra GPU.

Cons: Included driver DVD is not readable by both of my two dvd-r as the other reviewer mentioned. ATI driver from ASUS homepage does not support scaling to fit my plasma. Installed the one provided by ATI/AMD and it worked perfectly. Sound impedance is somewhat misconfigured so my TV could not resolve audio line out signal, but my receiver did. (Spent an hour to resolve this)

Overall Review: Very good quality basic motherboard, a perfect match with AMD LE-1600 series CPU.
