Works as power strip

Rosewill 12 Power Outlet Grounded Surge Protector, 4320 Joules 6KV, 8 Rotating Outlets, RJ11 and Coax Protection, 1800W, 6 Feet Cord, RHSP-13006
Rosewill 12 Power Outlet Grounded Surge Protector, 4320 Joules 6KV, 8 Rotating Outlets, RJ11 and Coax Protection, 1800W, 6 Feet Cord, RHSP-13006

Pros: Rotating receptacles are a good thing.

Cons: None to speak of

Overall Review: Using this to power audio and TV etc in living room. I replaced two power strips with one device. It takes up less space. I can't get super excited about a utilitarian thing like this but it does one thing and does it well. That's about all you could ask for.

Most Critical Review

Tried 2, both failed

Jamo DS3 1062868 Wireless Portable Speaker (Champagne)
Jamo DS3 1062868 Wireless Portable Speaker (Champagne)

Pros: Design is low key and pleasant.

Cons: Poor build quality--one DOA, the replacement failed after 30 minutes.

Overall Review: The first one was DOA. It didn't respond to the power button even after a full charge, i. e. the led switched to green. I exchanged it. The exchange worked for about a half hour, then stopped responding to the power button. This isn't the first bluetooth speaker I've had. I'm pretty sure I know how to turn them on and off. In the half hour the exchange speaker worked I was able to test the SQ using both bluetooth and direct wired connection. For music I used some viola da gamba chamber music, Buxthehude organ, and some acoustic blues recorded before WWII. The pre-WWII blues sounded OK. The sound spectrum was that of a below average 78. The viola da gamba chamber music sounded strident. The organ music failed completely on low notes. The speaker wasn't set up to cut off below its low frequency limit and distortion happened. Some small speakers handle extreme lows more gracefully. Again, overemphasized treble was the sound signature. There are several bluetooth speakers in the $20 to $30 range that sound better. The FM radio didn't work for me. I live in an area where you need a directional antenna and a radio with a very selective tuner to get FM reception. Even with the aux cable connected in hopes that it would work as an antenna I couldn't receive anything. I'll give it a pass on that. I had low expectations. Newegg was very good about processing the exchange and refund transactions.

Decent stick vac

Shark Rocket UV330 Deluxe Pro Flex Ultra-Light Stick Vacuum (Certified Refurbished)
Shark Rocket UV330 Deluxe Pro Flex Ultra-Light Stick Vacuum (Certified Refurbished)

Pros: Power cord rather than battery. Good upholstery attachment. Works as expected for a stick vac in this price range.

Cons: Dust cup too small.

Overall Review: I was looking for a stick vac that was a bit more versatile than the one we had. This one was the right price--refurbed--and had the features I wanted. It does a good job overall. At the refurb price it's worth the money. I wouldn't pay much more. The upholstery brush with the velcro instead of bristles gets cat fur. It does an adequate job on carpet although not as good as an upright. It's fine for bare floors and cobwebbing. It has a power cord. The dust cup fills too rapidly for me. A 10 X 12 carpeted area with an average amount of dirt will fill the cup. If you're doing more than that you'll have to empty the cup several times.

Excellent computer speaker for the price

TEAC LS-M100 2-Way 3" Powered Monitor Speakers
TEAC LS-M100 2-Way 3" Powered Monitor Speakers

Pros: At sale price a very good computer speaker. 15v power supply.

Cons: No grill cloth or other protection for speakers. Handle with care.

Overall Review: i bought this on a deep discount sale. At the sale price these are very good speakers. At full list they're not a good deal. They're not high fidelity but they're better than a lot of things you can buy in the $30 range. Both the RCA and 3.5mm inputs work fine. Some reviewers have complained about the supplied speaker wire. For a run of this length 20 gauge wire would probably be OK. Just for the heck of it I tried replacing it with 14 gauge zip cord since I have some within easy reach. No difference in the sound. I would have preferred binding posts to the spring connectors but I've had "real" speakers with spring connectors that worked fine. It can be tricky to get the wires firmly seated in spring connectors.

Works fine but is not eligible for driver upgrades

EVGA GeForce GT 730 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 Low Profile Video Card 02G-P3-2732-KR
EVGA GeForce GT 730 2GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 Low Profile Video Card 02G-P3-2732-KR

Pros: I was hoping to get a "newer" card that works better with Win 10 than the previous one. This one does.

Cons: The product copy does not mention that the 128 bit version of this card is not eligible for driver upgrades past v. 391.35. The current driver for other versions of the GT 730 is 419.67. Since the card has been considered End of Life for over six months I think Newegg should mention it in the product copy on the web site.

Overall Review: I wouldn't recommend that others buy this card if they want one that is eligible for driver upgrades.

Decent headphones

KEF M500 Hi-Fi Headphones (White)
KEF M500 Hi-Fi Headphones (White)

Pros: Comfortable. Decent SQ for the price I paid. Headband and earpieces made from good materials.

Cons: Cords seemed a bit thin

Overall Review: I bought these at an extremely low sale price compared to list. Apparently the white is not popular. At full list these headphones aren't a great value. At least one very reliable product review site disagrees with me though. I think they are in the same quality ballpark as my 15 year old Grado SR60s. They are comparable to a good set of $100 headphones.
