CHAINTECH GeForce 7300GS 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Low Profile Graphics Card GSV73GS-G2
CHAINTECH GeForce 7300GS 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Low Profile Graphics Card GSV73GS-G2

Pros: Bought this card for my wife's Dell C521 Dual Core AMD 4200+ system. It can only take a low profile card, and this was the cheapest one at the time. Very impressive. Over clocked easily to 630/702. 3Dmark2003 scores went from 1197 with the built in video to 4316 with this card. Easy too install too.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: I wish there was an AGP version this inexpensive for my old PC! Fast delivery-Ordered at dinner time on Wednesday and it was on my porch by dinner time Thursday!

Comments: So far, so good with this board. I put in an Athlon 1700+ XP "B" core and easily overclocked to 2 Ghz. Like everyone says, the documentation is pretty poor, but if you have put togther a system or 2 in the past you should have no problems. The on-board video is OK. I'm getting 4600 in 3DMark 2001. Not great, but good enough to run a lot of games. Raven Shield runs fine at max settings. If you are on a budget, but want something that has some upgrade room in the future (this can take 400 FSB Barton Processors), this is a great value. And of course no one beats Newegg! Put it togther for under $450 400W Powmax case (junky powersupply that came with it died in 2 months-replaced with a Sparkle 300W) XP 1700+ (O/C to 2400+) TR2TT Fan (I forget which, but it was $10 or so) Biostar M7NCD 2 x 512 Crucial 2700 DDR Maxtor 120 GB Lite-On 52x-24x-52x CD-RW FDD

Comments: Overall this MB is a good value. This was my 3rd system build (my 1st being a PC Chips piece of junk which this one is replacing), and I found it to be the easiest. My only disappointment was the on-board video. 1,800 on 3dMark2001 is pretty poor by any standard (even with 128mb shared memory), but I will be getting a video card in a few months so no big deal. Maybe I'm missing something in a config setting somewhere?? Be sure to get the latest drivers from the Nvidia website. I'm running 11 x 166 on an AMD 1700+ XP and not going above 45 C with a TR2TT TR2 M2 CPU Sink/Fan. I'm not sure how the previous reviewer got to 12 x 166 as I can not change the multiplier in either the BIOS or the EZClock software, only the frequency. I used a stick of 512 Crucial PC 2700 and have had no problems with stability. I wish I had found Newegg when building my 1st system. By far they are the best online computer retailer!
