Great Processor

AMD Phenom II X4 905e - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Socket AM3 65W Processor - HD905EOCGIBOX

Pros: Quad Core, energy efficient, 6 mb cache, low temp.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Haven't tried to over clock it because it works for me. I'm running a stock CPU fan and hasn't gone above 40C for me.

Most Critical Review

Good but could be better

ASRock A790GMH/128M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock A790GMH/128M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: AM3, 4 Dimms for RAM, on board video

Cons: Not enough fan control, my case needed two chassis fans and the board only has one chassis fan controller. I had to plug the other into the PSU fan controller. The placement of the SATA and other pins is kind of bad. I have an ATI4870 in it and I have run the cables around the card to get to the ports I need. The boot process take longer that I would like to get past post. If you enable AHCI the system loads past BIOS, stops, loads AHCI drivers, then boots. Add unnecessary time to boot.

Great Monitor

ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q Black 24.1" 6ms P-IPS Height/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable LCD Monitor w/2 USB hub, Card Reader & Display port 400cd/m2 50000:1 DCR
ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q Black 24.1" 6ms P-IPS Height/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable LCD Monitor w/2 USB hub, Card Reader & Display port 400cd/m2 50000:1 DCR

Pros: IPS No Blurring Input Options(VGA, DVI, DP, HDMI) Brightness Colors ASUS support Adjustable Stand Resolution 16:10 ratio Easy Fit grid that shows the size of something compared to the resolution on the screen. May not mean much to some people but helpful for those that do any publishing.

Cons: Heavy Power Hungry Thick 2 power buttons (I'm not sure why but there is a rocker switch that turns the power on to the unit and then a power button on the front that actually turns it on or off. Annoying if you overlook this.)

Overall Review: I picked this monitor up for under $400 at another place. It did have a dark region but ASUS fixed that up for me right away with an RMA, only cost me $10 in shipping. I do have it setup in a triple monitor setup with two other ASUS monitors. They are older 19 in 1680x1050. You can really see the color difference next to a standard TN display. It works great on games and there is no ghosting or blurring. I love the size and it works great when I'm working in Unity3D and Blender. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't get it so cheap but it was well worth the price. ASUS has a great dead pixel warranty and they did fix the defect in mine without any issues. It just took me two emails and sending it off. I can't say that pixel issue is common or not, I picked mine up after it was opened and returned to the company. That may have been the return reason.

Awesome Sauce

Fractal Design Define Mini Black Silent MATX Mini Tower Computer Case
Fractal Design Define Mini Black Silent MATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Silent Well designed Removable HD cage Fights large graphics cards PSU on bottom with flippable placement Cable management Fan controller

Cons: Larger than expected Cable management on back can get tight Some screws were over tightened

Overall Review: The case is awesome. I have loaded it with 5 fans (2 stock and 3 silent scythe fans) and a fan controller. Things are cool and quite. The issues I ran into were the screws were over tightened and required a lot of work to get loose. I also run into a space issue on the back of the case where the cable go. It still goes on fine but it is tight. I do have a lot of cables running back there. The flippable PSU is great, helps lower the temp on my GPU when faced down. The packaging was fine. I'm not sure why that would be issue and not an issue with the shipper kicking it around. It also very nice to work in with lots of space. I upgraded from Lian Li MicroATX Desktop Case. Oh and Fractal Design is a great company. I talked with them for a couple months about this case before it was released. I only wish that Newegg sold their fans as well.

PC Power & Cooling ModXStream Pro Series 700 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ700MXSP)

Pros: Cost after rebate, modular.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Has plenty of cables. Only needed to SATA power and the PCIe power adapter. The design required me to use a separate SATA power adapter for each device.

Good card

HIS Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card H487FN512P

Pros: Speed, cost

Cons: Noise

Overall Review: The fan seems to be designed bad since it makes a sound like it pressing against something. The fact that the heat sink isn't massive is nice too. I have this in a micro atx board and the Lian Li micro atx case.
