G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL

Pros: When not defective, works great.

Cons: T'was the night before Christmas when St. Nick dropped by with a T'was the night before Christmas when all through the house were heard expletives echoing off the walls. Hard drive after hard drive, one after another, Corrupted - to the point they appeared to be scrap. Days went by as Windows 7 was serially installed and every item in the upgrade was replaced, one by one with new ones. Never was there an error message that would indicate that the RAM was at fault. Finally, all that was left was the RAM and the memory diagnostic accompanying Win 7 couldn't complete the test - still no error message. By now, 2-3 weeks into it, I was a raving lunatic. New Corsair RAM confirmed the problems location, hard drives finally worked as advertised, and replacement memory from Newegg (same brand) appears to have solved the problem.

Overall Review: It's rare to get bad RAM, but when it happens, it can be a nightmare. The purchase here was part of a collection that included AMD 8 Core Black 220 Watt CPU, a 4 TB hard drive, a 1 TB hybrid hard drive, a new video card, and a 700 W power supply. All unknowns.

Intel Only

APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-NW-BK/450 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply
APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-NW-BK/450 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply

Pros: Lots of bays, top-front port access

Cons: Intel only - no 8 pin connector for 12 volt supply to motherboard (No AMDs) and 3.5 inch drive bays installed backwards (as far as I'm concerned) - you have to take off the opposite side of the case to access drive connectors.

Overall Review: Incomplete description leads you to think power supply is a universal - it's not.
