Pros: Samsung quality and very fast. I use it for recording from our mixing console. Low profile keeps the chance of getting hit or snagged while in use.
Cons: Nothing at all that I've found.
Pros: The small size makes it ideal for use in car use. Don't have to worry about it getting hit and breaking the usb port on the head unit.
Cons: None for me,fast and great price.
Pros: Cheap and reliable drives. I have purchased 3 of these and never had any issues at all.
Cons: Not the fastest ssd out there but no slouch either.
Pros: Good price point and fast.
Cons: None so far.
Pros: Good price on sale. Extra long cord for easy working reach. Nice display
Cons: The barrel that holds the tip on will not screw onto the handle. Either the tips supplied with unit are too long or the barrel that slides over the tip to hold it in place is to short. Either way I received a new unit that I can't use out of the box.
Also I was unable to find replacement heating elements for this model either here on New Egg or on the manuf, web site.
It did come with 1 spare element, hope they last.
Overall Review: I don't think I would buy this unit again or recommend it to anyone.
Sad as I have a older X-Tronic station that I have used for nearly 30 years and it still works, just not ESD safe.
Seems the quality of their products have gone down over the years.
Pros: LOW Cost
VERY Sturdy and Safe
Cons: None as I have seen
Overall Review: We have used several of these with great success and will buy again when needed. These mounts have a bolt that goes through the desk with a large washer(heavy duty) and nut. If installed as instructed then you will break the desk before the mount.
Pros: Good Manufacture
Above average performance (7200 rpm)
Low Low Cost Vs Mb
Cons: Legacy Drive
Pros: Drive Size,Cost and Speed + 5yr Warranty makes this drive a good value if you are not looking for or need earth shattering write speeds.
Metal case instead of plastic.
Did I mention 5 Year Warranty.
Cons: No real Cons when you look at the Manuf. Specs , they are inline, no hype
Overall Review: If you are needing a low cost, descent performance with a great warranty then this drive should be on your list. If you are replacing a dead drive in a older laptop (more then 18 - 24 months +) for everyday use or in a desktop for basic Office apps. email, web browsing then this is a perfect drive.
I would and will buy more.
Pros: I have yet to find anything at all to justify anything less than 5 eggs. It has every connection there is, onboard video is good for basic desktop apps and to serve as a home media pc and plays blu rays with perfection with Power DVD Suite.
Cons: None as of yet.
Overall Review: I'm a huge fan of Gigabyte and have purchased over 100 of their motherboards over the years for my own personal use and have built well over 2000 pcs with them accounting for app. 90% of all of those. Out of those, I may have had to RMA maybe 30.
Pros: Purchased this unit for my personal Media PC and it has served us for almost a year now with no issues at all and this PC runs 24x7 at all times. Our media PC is in my office at home and I have the HDMI out connected to my Mits 65" DLP 3D TV and I could not ask for more as I use it. Even the 3D content when I use the Blu-Ray in the PC looks just as good as it does when played through my Samsung 5500 3D DVD player. I run the output of this card to my Onky NR-616 receiver and then the receiver to my TV and have had to issues witht the Onky and the last 2 video cards I tried in the media PC had issues with the Onky keeping HDMI Sync, this one speaks the same language as the Onky finally.
I also keep a 19" PC monitor attached at all times mounted in my A/V rack.
Cons: None really, not a gamer so I can't speak to how it performs in that arena but with 160 streams and PCIe 2.1, Direct X 11, I would think it would do fairly well when mated up with the right combination of motherboard, cpu and memory on a single monitor.
Overall Review: Just a rock steady card with great video that will produce a fantastic picture on a HD TV with HDMI and Full HDCP also. Passes every audio we have threw at it, HD, HD Master Audio, etc with no problems at all. Full 1080p video with no artifacts anywhere in the video.
Pros: The first PCs we built to spec for a client was the first motherboards that we used with no old school DB25 printer ports and 32 out of 46 printers they had were DB25 only.
This was a new client to us and they faxed us the requirements and how and what motherboards, cpus and harddrives they wanted, we were not told of the printer issue.
I ordered 6 of these on the first order as I have not had the best of luck with many of this type of adapters in the past.
Too my surprise, these worked in a instant and didn't even need the driver cd at all, all the desktops were Win 7 and in less than 1 minute after pluging the units in we were printing.
We have used over 100 of these in the last couple of years and have yet had one to go bad or refuse to wotk with any of the printers that we have used with it.
Cons: none in any manner
Overall Review: Once in awhile we find a neat little item that if it works is a real life saver and this little item fits the bill. We have mostly used HP laserjets and inkjets, brother laserjets and a couple of Kodak printers with these and no problems to date.
Pros: Great deal on router for the money. It has worked without any issues at all for almost a year now. I put this unit in our shop just for our clients and vendors to use.Hard to beat a N300 router for 20.00 shipped.
Cons: The only con I would give it is that it does not have removable external ant's, but that was not a issue for the use we purchased the unit for.
Pros: The only purchase that I have made in the past year involving refurb drives and this one has made me smile again. I have had this unit in my Camera DVR unit now for almost 7 months and with 16 cameras I have never seen the record LED off..EVER.
Western-Digital is my favorite drive and 98% of all new drives I buy are WDs and that is several as we are resellers.
Cons: None, just wish I had purchased a couple more.
Pros: Wanted to add a USB 3.0 port fast and cheap to a rather expensive full tower case and this worked just fine, plus I gained all the media card readers as a plus. This unit has worked like a champ and have had no issues at all.
Cons: None at all
Overall Review: These little units make good sense if you have a new motherboard that has USB 3.0 ports and your case does not. It's hard to throw away a perfectly good case just to purchase one to get upfront USB 3.0 ports. These do a great job, the only catch is that you will need a empty 3.5" external bay open or you could get a 5.25" to 3.5" drive bay adapter for super cheap if you don't have a free 3.5" bay open.
Pros: This was the first of these drives for me and for $79.00 thought why not. I was so impressed for the overall performance that I placed a order for another.
it was so nice to go from forever to only seconds(less than 60) to be at my desktop on my new HP laptop.
I placed the 2nd one in my main desktop and now the 6 core 6300 cpu really seems fast..lol
Cons: None at all that I have found so far and this review comes after almost 7 months of daily use.
Overall Review: The only thing I could wish for was a larger one. :)
Pros: None to speak of.
Cons: Purchased 4 of these and all of them laid down in less than 6 weeks. Didn't even send them back.
Pros: This keyboard fills the need for HTPC use very well. Several people have knocked it for a few non-standard keys, but you must remember, it fits in your hand so some new and different methods of keystrokes are to be expected. After a few hours of use we had no problem at all with it. The trackball works well even with my extra large hands and fingers. The range is very good and well pleased overall. I have since sold several to clients that we built custom home theathers for and they feel the same after a few hours of using it and getting use to the layout.
Cons: To be honest and fair, none to mention or make issue over. It does it's job and after a couple months of use for us,no problems at all.
Pros: I have always been a Gigabyte fan, I have used and sold hundreds over the years and great service is a large understatment to say the least. I picked this puppy up for 1 of 2 systems I was building for myself. This board, AMD FX-6100 CPU, 16 Gig of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 1600 Mhz RAM, HD6450 Video card (I'm not a big gammer at all)
SATA 6gbs WD Black drives and this system screams and using it to type these reviews.
Once I installed the base drivers from the MB cd, the Gigabyte Easy Tune 6 utility on its own set this puppy to run at 4.3 Ghz and is rock steady on the factory fan. Never once have I had a lockup or any type of nag. I think most people forget to download the HotFix for these CPUs from Microsoft and keep them from doing the best that they can until Microsoft provides more support for all the extra features.
Pros: I have used many of these drives and have never had one to lay down on me ever. They are fast, rather quite and what more can you ask for and when priced under 20 dollars shipped..
Pros: I have purchased many flash drives over the past couple of months for myself and the shop guys to use in the field. These are by far not the fastest units we have purchased in a USB 2.0 but remember that they are only Gen 2 units. They do respond very fast when plugged in, no junk software and nagware to deal with. Like the retracting plug, no caps to lose.
With that said, I still plan to buy more of them as they are well made and while they may not be the fastest on the corner, they are dependable and the price point makes them a great deal. I have 4 of the 8 and 16 Gig units laying beside my keyboard right now, so that should speak volumes overall.
Cons: A little slower than I think they should be even for USB 2 and even if they are Gen 2 units.
Overall Review: Still worth the money anyday.
Pros: You might find other off brand media for a few dollars less and which is ok I guess if you are always in need of a few coasters to toss around.
I used app. 70 out of the this spindle with-in 3 hours of receiving it and not a bad disc in the lot. I have always had very good luck with Sony media.
Cons: None at all.
Pros: I purchased this for my own use to go in my new HP DV7 ent. laptop. It came with only 4 Gig and after tossing the 4 gig it shipped with and replacing it with this dual channel kit my Windows 7 socres went way...way up. Video went from 4.1 to 5.7 and this is on a AMD A4-3300M APU.
You just can't go wrong with quality G.Skill RAM.
Cons: only one I have is that my lappy won't do 16 gig...hehehe
Pros: Not much choice out there for the old 478 units any longer, but this seemed to be the best value for the money overall. Mount was very simple, well designed and solid. Quality fan used, is a bit on the loud side, but how much do you want to spend on a PC of this age. My customer was happy, all that matters.
Cons: A little loud, but I have heard much much worse.
Pros: I have used these for the past several weeks on basic systems and have had no problem at all. And when they are on the Shell Shocker special you just can't go wrong for a stable PS for a basic desktop.
Cons: Non that I have found yet for the intended use.
Pros: The FX line of CPUs have made me a very happy camper along with the people that received the systems. I just threw the power on to a new FX6100 10 minutes ago and it came up to 4.1 ghz just using the default settings in Gigabytes Auto-Tune utility.
I got 4.3 with no effort at all with this 8150 and I always use Gigabyte motherboards. I have found that the gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 does a very fine job with any of the FX processors. Each time I read a neg. and a upset builder I have to take it with a grain of salt. They just don't truly understand how to match up CPU, RAM, Video and most important the motherboard most of the time.
Also, it seems most are FORGETTING to download the HOTFIX from Microsoft for Win 7 for these CPUS. I just clocked this 6100, fresh virgin load, 16 gig 1600Mhz ram, the 990 M/B and a HD6450 Video. With only loading up the base drivers for the M/B and video, Win7 reported a score of 7.4, 7.6, 5.0, 6.2 and 5.9, with the hotfix it went up to 7.5,7.8. Worth the effort
Cons: If you find any, they must be of a personal nature or bad mixture of items with your build.
Overall Review: I have been building PCs for over 20 years, yes, I have been around a long time. I have most always found AMD processors to be the best bet in the long run unless you just have more money to spend than you can spend.
