Good for the Money

LG 24M47VQ-P Black 24" TN Flicker Safe Widescreen LED Class Monitor Full HD 1920 x 1080 60 Hz 4-Way Screen Split Reader Mode sRGB 72% HDMI D-Sub
LG 24M47VQ-P Black 24" TN Flicker Safe Widescreen LED Class Monitor Full HD 1920 x 1080 60 Hz 4-Way Screen Split Reader Mode sRGB 72% HDMI D-Sub

Pros: Size 24", 2ms GTG, Resolution upto 1080P, DVI, HDMI, VGA, and Headphone outputs. It also has a TN Panel and VESA 100 x 100 Wall Mount. Good value for the price I paid.

Cons: Back Plate where the power connector plugs in, specifically, is flimsy, I deducted 1 Egg because of this. A work around is attach the DVI connector, making sure to screw it in even if you don't use DVI, and hold it firmly while you plug in the Power Connector. Other than that, this is a solid Monitor for the price.

Overall Review: I bought mine on sale and so far all is well, no dead pixels or screen issues. It's a 60 Hrz Monitor with 2ms GTG and if you are a gamer that is what you want for gaming. Of course you could spend twice the money for a 1ms so you do get what you pay for. This monitor is quick and web pages pop. If you are a photo editor or deal with Colors in any way, a TN Monitor may not be your best option. The Basal is a bit wide, 17mm or just under 3/4" is a bit wide for a multiple monitor set up but it is workable as most any monitor will have some sort of border.

Not Worth it

HooToo® HT-UH007 USB 3.0 HUB (4 Port, Bus-Powered, Built-in 1ft USB 3.0 Cable)
HooToo® HT-UH007 USB 3.0 HUB (4 Port, Bus-Powered, Built-in 1ft USB 3.0 Cable)

Pros: Great packaging, nice design and over all feel. Came with a 3' USB extension. I can not recommend this product, if yours works, good for you...

Cons: Did not last but a few months; purchased early Jan 2014 and is now defective on 30 Apr 2014. It functions when it is not connecting and reconnecting every 15 minutes or so.

Overall Review: I use this with a USB 3.0 Active Extension and to diagnose which items is causing the reconnect issue I disconnected everything to see if it was the extension. Then one by one I added each item starting with my web cam and USB Microphone and lastly connected this hub alone and sure enough almost instantly the dreaded BEEP.... So just to be sure I checked everything a second time just to make sure it was this device and it was. This might be useful in a pinch if you don't really need any reliable connection but I would not put too much trust in it at all. Worked fine for about 45 days then my computer started to beep from finding a new device. Did that 1 or 2 times a day over a period of 30 more days. As of a few days ago it reconnects 3 or 4 times an hour and that becomes annoying. It still works, it simply reconnects frequently.

VERY DISAPPOINTING

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: 8 Cores *if you consider 2 cores sharing a single FPU* but only seen as a 4 Core CPU because of the shared FPU a PRO. Good Multitasking compared to an i3 or i5ish. Can Air Cool with after market cooler or water cooling for a more silent running machine. Price for what it does Performance is average

Cons: Wow, where to begin? I waited almost a year before I posted this as my purchase was Black Friday, 2014, and I wanted to be sure before I made this post that what I was going to say would be useful to you. Bad IPC, or single core processing, noticeably lower than the FX 4350 so what does this mean? Well, in gaming for example it is actually slower than the FX 4350 or not faster so if you own the FX 4350 don't waste your money to upgrade. Granted while streaming and gaming at the same time the FX 8350 edges out but not by much. Many have said the FX 8350 does a bit better at streaming than an i7 but what they fail to do is reduce the superior settings of their graphics card to match the AMD CPU, so basically they are using the i7 to stream at MAX SETTINGS and GAME AT MAX SETTINGS where as the AMD FX 8350 CAN NOT DO that due to bottleneck issues. I am very disappointed with AMD as I've been a BLIND FANBOY for over 2 decades now but my eyes are WIDE OPEN TODAY, 2015, as this AMD FX 8350 was the proverbial straw to BREAK THIS CAMELS BACK. 20 years ago AMD did RULE but today, 2015, Intel RULES with the i7 because AMD is not even in the same universe right now. AMD FX CPU's still don't know what PCIe 3.0 is and there is NO PLAN to update this, shame on you AMD. I will give you that the FX 990 Chip set can handle two PCIe 2.0 lanes at 16X while Intel can only handle a single PCIe lane at 3.0 @ 16X but all things considered that requires TWO VIDEO CARDS to compete against a single video card for Intel. Worse yet when you run SLI or Crossfire on an AMD FX CPU you run the risk of the CPU causing the bottleneck and that is NOT GOOD. AMD APU or Accelerated Processing Units know what PCIe 3.0 is, so I know AMD has the TECH they just refuse to UPDATE the FX CPU Line; again I say SHAME ON YOUR AMD... HOT HOT HOT HOT oh and did I mention this CPU runs HOT. I water cool my FX 8350 with a D5 Pump and two Rads, a 240 and 360 both in push pull config and since I don't OC I can keep my CPU around 28C, give or take, and about 32ish while full load. If I OC'd I am sure it would run about mid 40's running at 4.8 or possibly 5 GHz. Running hot is not a bad thing, it is just part of AMD and how they use power management. Like everything in life YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR so needless to say if you are a bargain shopper then AMD is for you but if you want RESULTS then consider Intel, med to high end, and you will be happy. I am not a bargain shopper and until I bought this FX CPU I never dreamed I'd consider owning an Intel CPU, but I say again, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. AMD FX CPU's are being phased out and replaced with the AMD APU Line of low end budget gaming CPU's and I must say I have ZERO FAITH in the new ZEN APU.

Overall Review: In closing I just want to express, in case you missed it, how disappointed I am with AMD FX CPU's and how I, personally, and done with AMD CPU's, or ANYTHING AMD, as a whole. About 5 years ago I upgraded to the FX 4350 and I admit I was pleased, all things considered. In 2012 I did more upgrades to include the Nvidia GTX 680 4GB OC Version from Gigabyte and again I was pleased. Now that my eyes are opened I want to change being "pleased" to say I was a "BLIND AMD FANBOY" as I did not even consider Intel at the time for any upgrade. I did ZERO RESEARCH on Intel and I now regret that. I thought I got the deal of the century on Black Friday 2014 only to find out that I just wasted money on a CPU that was not much faster than the one it replaced. Then I decided to do some research and found out some disturbing things, like lower IPC and other horrifying things about the FX line. My AMD investment over the past decade has been about a 99% waste of time, money and EFFORT, to say the least. Don't repeat my mistake. I am so disappointed with AMD that I would rather scrap this system rather then sell it to someone else because I know they could put their money towards an Intel Rig and be much happier. Times change and I learned that I need to change with them. I started computing in 1986 and I am here to say Intel started things off, dropped the ball, AMD Picked up that BALL and RULED. Then not only has AMD Dropped the BALL but they with drew from the GAME leaving AMD FANBOYS to TWIST IN THE WIND. Do your own research and don't jump into spending money because the bottom line is this, YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, especially with AMD. There is a REASON their CPU's are priced the way they are, AMD is now the BARGAIN CPU in every meaning possible and I have yet to shop a BARGAIN that did not cost me 3 times as much in the LONG RUN. I can not stress this enough, you really do get what you pay for, ESPECIALLY from AMD. If you only have 200 bucks to spend and you need an upgrade, maybe, but really think about this. If you have Bill Gates Money than you won't even consider AMD for ANYTHING for ANY REASON what so ever. I suggest you save more and go with an Intel Brand CPU. Do your research because Intel is not easy to work with but with Intel YOU HAVE OPTIONS, so research them all. All things considered the FX 8350 is in the price range of a low end i5 but the FX 8350 is OUT PERFORMED by an i3 in most categories. That being said most of us will be very pleased with the i5 something rather than HIGH END AMD. For the few of us that demand ALL from our PC's than the HIGH END i7 is the ONLY OPTION. AMD offers a decent CPU for the money but why drive a bike when you can afford to drive a car? If you can justify driving a bike stay with AMD. Me, I'ma drive a car from now on...

ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS
ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS

Pros: Looks great, awesome onboard sound, awesome layout as nothing seems to conflict with anything else, seems like a sound motherboard if you can get one that works; two failed for me.

Cons: UEFI or BIOS was useless as it is buggy. The mouse did not work and the arrow keys seemed impossible to use. I would click an arrow key then wait upwards of 30 or more seconds for the BIOS to respond and hopefully move; sometimes it would jump 2 or 3 items or possible I cued several clicks could go either way. My hardware worked flawlessly on another board before attempting to install on this board so you can rule out 2 video cards, 2 sets of 4x4 or 16GB DDR 3 @2133, 4350 Processor, SSD, plus anything else. I have another working PC that I checked the memory and video cards with; but it is an FM2 Board so I can not check my processor. As I said I do not believe it to be my processor or any other hardware. Some BIOS options stayed when changed while other times they seemed to reset themselves. I used stock settings as I find no real need to over clock anything. Using an SSD it took upwards of 4 min just to boot into Win7 Ultimate, 64 bit. Once the system was running it seemed to be ok, no BSOD. First board was replace via RMA, thanks NewEgg, and the second board was no better. Given my hardware I was expecting my system to have more zip and zing but it was more like slow and sluggish. Needless to say I am done with Asus; their products lack any form of quality control what so ever. I had another Asus MB that took upwards of 2 MONTHS, more like some 70 to 80 DAYS to get replaced and I am here to say Asus has grown too big to care about the little guy anymore. If you can get Asus to provide the correct information as to where to return an item I suggest you use Tracking and Signature plus insurance options to cover the cost of your item because the Asus RMA Process will LOSE your Product and leave you hanging for a replacement. Worse yet you have a better chance of winning the LOTTERY without purchasing a ticket then you do of Asus lifting a finger to assist you. Granted they FINALLY replaced the defective MB with a REFURBISHED MB and it seemed to work as it should but it took upwards of almost 50 phone calls waiting on hold for days over a period of 80 days just to get a REFURBISHED BOARD. Nothing like spending over $250.00 US Dollars for a REFURBISHED Board. I say this again Asus has grown too big to care about the little guy, and if you are not purchasing 100 products or more a day, consider yourself a LITTLE GUY...

Overall Review: NewEgg has been a Godsend with regards to doing what was right to solve this issue for me. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist me with this issue and for that "I thank you NewEgg..." I have purchased from NewEgg for over 10 years and not once have I ever had any ISSUE with a product or RMA and I look forward to being a loyal customer for many decades to come.

Not worth the price

TOSHIBA PH3200U-1I72 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Desktop Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit
TOSHIBA PH3200U-1I72 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Desktop Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit

Pros: Price for a 2TB hard drive is about the only PRO I can think of

Cons: Everything, this drive FAILED about 10 days after installing Win7. It was sluggish and then just stopped working for no apparent reason. No clicking sounds, no unusual whine, nothing, it just stopped and never started again.

Overall Review: You really do GET, WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and this experience proved that. Seriously who would not jump on a 2 TB, 64 Meg Cache, 6.0 Gig, 3.5 for 89.00 on sale??? Now I am out the cost of return shipping to boot, so needless to say this drive is not worth it...

A MUST HAVE CASE

AZZA Genesis 9000 CSAZ-9000B Black 0.8mm SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case
AZZA Genesis 9000 CSAZ-9000B Black 0.8mm SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Just about EVERYTHING, this case has it all, HUGE, SPACY, and room for 2 Power Supplies, 1 near the front and the other near the back of the case. BTW each PSU is mounted on the bottom. When I say HUGE, I mean HUGE, as in almost HUGE enough to hide a Body or TWO... Not really, but very close. The Black Case with Red Trim Lights is very easy on the eyes, especially in the darkness, that Red Hue Glow really adds to the over all spectacularly of the case... Extra EVERYTHING was included, short of a second case, and these days that is something. Room for Fans, water Cooling Equipment, the Dog, Several Hard Drives and DVD's and lots of room to hide cables. The supplied cables are almost too long, but I would rather they be that then too short. The provided screws are painted Black to match the case and the MB screws seemed to disappear into the background of the MB itself. There is Room in the Top for 2, let me say again, TWO, 230mm Fans, side by side. You could probably remove them and replace it with the largest Water Cooling Radiator out there as clearance it not an issue. MB Bay is removable and replacing the MB is a dream. The MB has all kinds of clearance around it and you can mount the MB Bay facing either side so depending on your application you can set access to the MB from the Front or Rear Panel. The case itself weighs 45 lbs and by the time you add a huge PSU, Hefty MB, and lot of Drives said system could easily reach triple digits, as in 100 lbs or more so once you decide where it is going to go don't think about moving it. Includes 5 removable hard drive bays that can handle 3.5 or 2.5 size hard drives. The entire front cage covering is removable and if you have the need could easily install 10 DVD Drives and easily make your own DVD Copy Machine.

Cons: There are a few cons but none worth deducting any eggs for. The On Switch and Lighting Switch feel cheap. The Monetary ON Switch seems to be stuck ON, but it is not. The tool less cage seems a bit tight to get drives in and out, but that being said when the drive is in, it is there to stay and feels solid. None of the Fans are PWM so I would venture to say this case has been out for sometime, but replacing said fans with PWMs is worth the added cost, especially if you want to put enough fans in that case to suck all the air out of the room. The Doors Hinge open, not sliding, and that takes a bit to getting use to. Not really sure if that is a con or pro. The nice thing about that hinge is it compresses the cables rather than drags the panel across them so there is that. There is a 2.5" thick piece of plastic on the Top and Bottom of the case that is not easily removed, especially the bottom, but it does stay secure and it does not feel cheap. There is room under each for water cooling devices if you wish to install them there. The Front Panel is a pain to remove, but you really don't need to remove it because each drive bay has a vented cover that is removable, not easily, but removable just the same. Again it is a pain to remove but it is very securely fastened and other than exploring just to see what is behind it, there is no real need to remove it. The square to allow non factor CPU Cooling is a bit small, but the MB Bay is removable so expanding is very easily done.

Overall Review: This case is not portable by any stretch of the imagination but when one buys a FULL TOWER, toting it around is not a prerequisite. That being said, if you wanted to install Wheels you probably could, so it just depends on how portable you need this case to be... LOL... The Black with Red lighting just looks more Menacing in a wicked, cool, evil way as the other option White with Blue Trim seemed more Tame for lack of a better description. I know I will keep this case for a very long time to come because this thing is just too friggin heavy to move... LOL... The additional screws and hardware was a wonderful addition and already being painted black was an awesome surprise. No need to paint screws like you would need to do on most over cases. I simply grew accustomed to Chrome Finished Screws so again this was an awesome surprise. There is room on the front side panel for a 3rd 230mm Fan plus two more 140mm fans so I would venture to say keeping this case cool is not a problem. I have paid way more money on cases that gave but a fraction of what this case offers, so if you seek a case that can also double as Support for you Building, you will not be disappointed...

Poor EXPRESS Shipping

I paid close to $6.00 for Express Shipping only to have my package arrive well over 10 days late. I made several other purchases, different products, same area, with Free or next to free, Ground Shipping, that arrived in just a few days, less than 5. Some how Express Shipping took close to 12 days to arrive. Made the purchase on a Friday, was suppose to arrive the following Monday. Nope, got changed to Wed, than Friday, to end up arriving the following Wed. I made the purchase from NewEgg only to find out that my purchase was somehow farmed out to a third party, Windisk. I don't recall clicking on any third party vendor and when I buy from NewEgg I expect the product to be handled by NewEgg, not farmed out to a different vendor. By the time the product arrived all the excitement was gone and I feel like just throwing the item away. The reason you buy things and pay for Express Shipping is so you can enjoy them ASAP, not weeks later after the excitement is gone. I never invested in an M.2 SSD before this and I was excited to see how it might speed things up a bit. I was left with the option to wait until the item arrived or go ahead with the build and install the M.2 later; obviously I opted to install the M.2 later. Now that the system is up and running it will be a hassle to go back and install the M.2 now. Maybe bad things like this only happen to me, and if they don't happen to you consider yourself fortunate. It just seems that if a product is going to have a single defective item out of a run of 10,000 that my luck is I get that defective item. So much is my lot in life I suppose. NewEgg needs to stop farming out items to Third Party Vendors, either carry the item or don't. When you link to third parties there is a delay that should not happen. The American Economy is bad enough as it is and if you treat your customers like this I would venture to say you won't have them long. If I wanted to gamble on where my products come from I would do a Google Search and hope for the best. When I buy from NewEgg I expect NEWEGG to DELIVER, not farm it out to a third Party. Now my invoice makes sense but prior to paying for everything something just seemed odd. It was not until after the sale did it become clear I had been farmed out to a third party. Had this been more clear I would not have made this purchase from a third party. Granted NewEgg won't go broke if I stop buying here all together, but perhaps others will also stop buying once they experience this third party bait and switch tactic that NewEgg has adopted for the sole purpose of PROFIT. I get it and I am not opposed to Profit but gouging and poor service for the same price are unacceptable. Where is the satisfaction is paying extra for EXPRESS Shipping when said shipping takes 3 times as long? Most items offered on NewEgg include shipping while others carry a buck or two at the most so to be forced to pay almost 6 bucks for Express Shipping for an item that weights less than a few ounces, yes an M.2 SSD weights like an ounce if that, is unacceptable. Then have the item arrive well over 10 days late with no excuse as to why, that's just poor business tactics. NewEgg needs to add a few check boxes to a customer's settings page and allow them to decide if they want to be farmed out to third parties if NewEgg does not have said item in stock. Sure some will check the box saying it's OK but others will ensure to UNCHECK said box and go some where else if NewEgg does not have the item. When I shop at NewEgg from now on, I will be more careful of third party bait and switch tactics. Shame on you NewEgg. High Cost of shipping an item that weights less than a few ounces: -1 Egg Paying 3 times as much for Express Shipping only to have item arrive late: -1 Egg Being farmed out to a third party vendor without consent: -1 Egg
