Most Critical Review

Good cooler, Bad fan

Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II CL-C0034 Copper Fan & Heatsink
Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II CL-C0034 Copper Fan & Heatsink

Pros: The cooler works well, Heatpipes... what can I say, it works. Even when you take the fan off the unit. Once installed, it's easy to adjust to make room for add on cards, i.e. video cards etc.

Cons: The fan started vibrating and got terribly loud. I removed the fan from the cooler and just let my 120mm case fans do the circulation for cooling.

Overall Review: The chipset did not heat up any more without the fan installed. So... This unit work just as good if you take the fan off(with good circulation). I dont know how well it would do if you have low circulation or no case fans.

mmm hhmm

CORSAIR RM850 850W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply - CP-9020056-NA/RF Factory Refurbished
CORSAIR RM850 850W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply - CP-9020056-NA/RF Factory Refurbished

Pros: cheap. corsair. enough power.

Cons: runs really hot. Not real sure the PS fan works at all. I cant't feel air coming out the back of unit, ever. dunno app that can give me fan speeds for PS.

Overall Review: I think you always get what you pay for. nuff said. newegg is awesome.

Its been Great

GIGABYTE Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card GV-R929WF3-4GD
GIGABYTE Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card GV-R929WF3-4GD

Pros: the PC this is in: socket 2011 i7 3820 @ 4.4Ghz, 16Gb Gskill 2133mhz ram, ...... I swapped out my old Radeon HD6950 for this card in July of 2014, and made no other PC changes. My benchmarks literally doubled! I have not ever crashed or had a BSOD. BUT I never have used the supplied software.

Cons: The Heat displacement goes straight into the case, The price you pay for decent cooling I suppose.

Overall Review: I use MSI Afterburner software for Overclocking and fan control for this card. I dont know If I got a "good batch" card or what, but I overclock my core clock to 1100MHz and the Memory clock to 1500MHz and this thing runs like a champion. I do have my fans set to run at 100% when temps reach 70C and when running Heaven benchmark in loop under full load for long periods with full on overclock, the temps rarely bump 80C. but it is somewhat noisy. Seriously considering buying another for crossfire. But I'm gonna water cool of it when and IF I do get another R9 290. This was one of the best "single" upgrade I have had in a long time. Very happy with purchase, and as stated I'm about to bite the bullet and get another for crossfire. I'm an enthusiast .. what can I say?

works great for me

G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11Q-16GBZL

Pros: Owned for just over 2 years . . has worked flawless. I added another set for my ramdisk and it's awesome. I'm not going to bash Corsair, they make a great product. But I started using G.Skill in some of my builds many years ago to save a little cash. I think there are some of the best bang for buck ratio out there. ALTHOUGH, the price hase increased since I bought in 08-08-2012. I got them for $118.98, As I right this they are $164.99 (memerory market fluctuations?). I have never had an issue with this set or any of the G.Skill ram I have purchased from NEWEGG. this set uses the XMP settings with rated speeds, no issues.

Cons: It;s not DDR4 for the same price :)

Overall Review: I have been very pleased with these. I installed - I set XMP - I verified settings. th-th-th-that's all folks.... 2 years later here I am praising a great product. Highly recommended ==================================================== my rig > MSI R9 290 video overclocked to the moon > I7 - 3820 @ 4660MHz cooled by corsair H80 - 120mm push pull > AsRock X79 extreme6/GB > G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (8 x 4GB) > DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) @ correct XMP profile > (1) Intel 520 Series Cherryville SSD 2.5" 120GB primary > (1) WD VelociRaptor 450GB 10000 RPM secondary - app drive > (1) WD Black 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB - storage > (3) Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM - storage > Creative labs / ASRock Game blaster with THX > (7) noctua fans - multiple sizes and speeds > all tucked away nicely in a Corsair Obsidian Series 650D Mid Tower Computer Case w/Side Panel Window
