Cable works

Pros: Cable works with my StarTech ECESATUSB1 controller both on my MacBook pro and windows 7 (32 bit) laptop. I can connect a 2.5" drive direct to this cable and it powers up off the card and mounts. Heavy gauge cable, will not break.
Cons: The cable is long, like 3-4 feet. For a laptop its pretty long since the drive sits right next to the computer.
Overall Review: Buy it.
Good Card

Pros: It works in on my macbook (snow leopard) and on win7 (32 bit). I have not tested on win7 64 bit, but there are drivers out there that would probably work. I use this card with the Koutech CBL-PSA512V-100 5V/12V Power Over eSATA cable which allow me to plug 2.5" drives directly into my laptop. Also allows a usb device to be plugged in directly to the card and via various powered esata cables you can find on here.
Cons: Card sticks out of my macbook about 1/4" before the black plastic housing and about 1.5" in total, not a huge deal, but you will want to unplug it before putting your laptop in the bag. The card will NOT power 3.5" desktop drives, for those you will still need to provide external power.
Overall Review: My first powered esata card. Works fine.
