Great drive all around
Pros: The only 8 TB 7200 rpm drive available with SATA interface. It's extremely fast, with over 200 MB/s sequential - greater throughput than many low-end SSD's! It also runs very cool, much cooler than my old 2 TB WD RE series drives. I'm guessing this is due to the lower friction of the moving parts due to the helium fill.
Cons: The price/performance ratio on these isn't quite as good as with 4 TB enterprise drives. It'll come down though, as with anything else. Because of the massive 8 TB size, any RAID array initialization or rebuild activities are going to take a looong time.
Overall Review: I would recommend NOT using these drives in RAID 5 if you value your data. I'm using these in RAID 1 only. The URE on these drives is 1 in 10^15 which is consistent with other enterprise hard drives, but unless the industry can create a 1 in 10^16 URE hard drive, I'd stay away from RAID 5 with a drive this large. These drives are working flawlessly for me as encrypted RAID 1 mirrored LVM volumes under RHEL 6.6. Plug-n-play. I've tried them formatted as EXT4 and also as XFS, and both seem to work equally well, at least in my usage pattern.
feels very cheap, satisfactory performance
Pros: it works slightly better than the built-in antenna on my klh receiver.
Cons: it is very cheaply made. it feels flimsy in your hands, like thin poor quality plastic. typical bottom-dollar made in china construction. the wire stand is also flimsy and doesn't support it well. am reception is poor. and why are there two sets of wires coming out of it? omit the 300 ohm ladderline, nobody uses that. stereos like mine that have 300 ohm ladder line connections, you simply use a small 75-300 ohm balun. it's silly to include two separate hard-wired connections, and it clutters up your stereo wiring and even prevents the antenna from standing up properly on its flimsy bent wire stand.
Overall Review: I think terk must have been bought out by another company, because the older terk antenna products are nice. i have an older terk fm antenna that is much more nicely constructed, with a solid plastic stand, and solid feel build quality. too bad they seem to have gone down-hill like so many other products these days.
Excellent cooling AND whisper quiet. A true win-win product!
Pros: - Awesome cooling. Keeps my E5 2680 v2 (115w TDP) processor at 22 C idle, and 35 C load. - Much *much* quieter than my old Dynatron R14 cooler. - Easy install. Four screws, includes special screwdriver, includes brackets for both square and narrow ILM. - Great flexibility. Allows orienting in multiple directions, so you can point it at your exhaust fan whether it's on the rear or on the top of your case.
Cons: None really. Yes the price is high, but the performance is amazing, so worth it. Only "con" I can think of, and this is a real nit pick, is that the screws are not phillips head, they're a very small size of allen head. But they include the tool, so ya can't really complain.
Overall Review: Using it on a Supermicro X9SRL-F with Xeon E5-2680 v2 processor. Note that depending on how close your memory slots are to the CPU socket, you might need low profile sticks to fit under this cooler. On my X9SRL, I'm not using the slots closest to the socket, so there's plenty of room. On this board, it is only a potential issue if you're running two DIMMs per channel. The take away here, is that you should measure before buying. But this is true with all aftermarket coolers, so you know this already I'm sure.
Love it, makes TV watching easy and convenient
Pros: - Picks up 38 channels from my antenna, most are in HD - Solid metal chassis, feels very high build quality - Very easy to update the firmware via the web interface - HD Homerun app for iOS and Android and Kodi is easy to use
Cons: - No LED status indicators on the front of the box, it only has Ethernet cable link/act LED's on the rear.
Overall Review: If you want to watch TV from your antenna on any PC or mobile device in your home, this is the perfect answer. My wife can watch TV on her ipad while in bed, and I can watch on my laptop while sitting out in the balcony.
Two connectors, so white, 36 inches!
Pros: I put some bits in one end, and they came out the other end.
Cons: It didn't fold my laundry or wash the dishes.
Overall Review: Used for connecting AMD Radeon Rx 480 to a Dell Professional ultrawide display on a Fedora Linux F25 workstation.
Great performance for the price
Pros: - Performance similar to my old $1000 GTX Titan from 2014 - Nice and quiet - Low power, only a single 6-pin PCI-E power
Cons: - None really, although it would be nice to have a DVI connection, as that's what I had been using. Oh well, time to upgrade to DisplayPort I guess.
Overall Review: - Works great with open source AMDGPU driver on Fedora 25. It "just worked" with a clean install of F25, no driver installation or tweaking required, true plug-n-play.
