FSP Group AX500-A 500W ATX12V Power Supply
FSP Group AX500-A 500W ATX12V Power Supply

Comments: bought this thing after reading lot and lots of online reviews and decided to go with this after all the bad reviews of the enermax that appeared in a tomshardware review. This PSU was also in that review and did quite well and had long cables for my P180 case. Runs my 7800GTX flawlessly and dead silent. Buy it, dont let the low price fool you, for once you get more than you moneys worth! Most Critical Review

Not pleased with color

ViewSonic 20.1" Active Matrix, TFT LCD WSXGA LCD Monitor 8ms gray-to-gray (avg.); 16ms white-black-white (typ) D-Sub, DVI-D X Series VX2025WM
ViewSonic 20.1" Active Matrix, TFT LCD WSXGA LCD Monitor 8ms gray-to-gray (avg.); 16ms white-black-white (typ) D-Sub, DVI-D X Series VX2025WM

Pros: Great screen uniformity and black level. Alot less back light bleedthrough than the VX924. 8 bit S-IPS panel produces full color palate. Just as capable for video games as the VX924, no visible ghosting slightly more blurring very little though.

Cons: I purchased this monitor to replace the VX924 (a 6bit monitor) so that I could get a 8bit monitor... however even though this monitor can naturally without dithering produce the full 16.7 million colors, those colors are very lack luster and nowhere near the vibrancy of the VX924. Also the screen has a shimmering rainbow type effect similar to DLP screens, I am not sure if this is a inherent flaw of S-IPS panels or because the pixels are so small!? The white is a bit on the blue side, even at 6500k.

Overall Review: I believe that the lack luster color and perhapes the shimmering is due to the fact that the pixels are so darn tiny, much more so than a 19" LCD. The pixels are barely larger than the border next to them! There just isnt enough pixel size to let light through. Don't purchase this monitor if you love vibrant colors even though it is a fast 8bit panel.

Worth every penny plus some!

Datacolor S2E100 Colorvision Spyder2 Express
Datacolor S2E100 Colorvision Spyder2 Express

Pros: It works encredibly well, and is very easy to use. I cannot believe the difference it made on my VX2025WM LCD monitor! The blacks are so much darker and the color so saturated, its like I bought a brand new 1,000 dollar LCD... the change was that dramatic for me coming from the manufacturer settings and profile.

Cons: None, except I wish I had purchased it long ago.

Overall Review: Should you buy it... YES! If you consider yourself to be knowledgable about monitors or an enthusiast you should not be without this great performing and very inexpensive calibrator period.

Great for storage

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: works as its supposed to... but even with 16MB cache its no match for my raptor, it still trails the raptor hugely in random access time and a little bit in total bandwidth. So if you were thinking about raiding these over a raptor its still not gonna compare. use these for storage!

Cons: as someone stated before it wasn't free ;)

Overall Review: it seems to be quiet as well .. I can't hear it. Should format down to 298GB. For formated sizes on any HD take the advertised price and divide that by 1.071 ... neat lil trick

For under $100 you can't do better

SONY Studio Monitor MDR-V700DJ 3.5mm/ 6.3mm Connector Circumaural DJ Headphone
SONY Studio Monitor MDR-V700DJ 3.5mm/ 6.3mm Connector Circumaural DJ Headphone

Pros: Solid construction, these things feel solid, haven't had any problems with the swivels yet. The sound is very nice and I have not ever heard any phones better than these ever, definite improvement over the 600's. an absolute joy to listen to, buy these and you going go through all you old cds and hear things you have never heard before.

Cons: shallow depth in the cup of the phone may give some ear pain. They are bass heavy by deign but not to the determent of the highs

Overall Review: these phones are constanly compared to $300 and above phones on the net, so that should give you an idea of their reputation.

Absolutely Stellar

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: The sound is so clean and so very smooth. Most importanly this card does not produce a hissing noise during silence, if you hear a hiss it will be because of you have it connected to a noisy amp, connected directly to the card with high quality headphones there is absolutely no hiss. This card will give you the sound quality to truly qualify as studio monitor level with the right headphones and or speaker system of course. The Console to control all the options is very slick and nice, you'll love it.

Cons: turning on too many special features such as the crystalizer and the cmss at top levels along with effects can make for a nasty sound so use common sense.

Overall Review: I came from an older sound blaster live! 5.1 and this is a world of a difference. If your looking for the best sound experience on your pc the sound card is the most crucial component in my opinion. Your sound system is only as strong as its weakest link. By the way I have an NForce 4 motherboard and did not have a single problem.
