Good deal

Pros: For the price and power consumption this was a great deal. Upgraded from an 8500gt because even kid's 3-d games were getting crushed on my PC. FreeRealms would start lagging on my son after about 3 minutes, now it's flawless. COH now runs maxed out instead of minimized. Haven't tried it on my 32" LCD yet, but since the 8500gt could handle that I'm not worried. If it was 1/4" longer I'd have had to move an HDD for it. Only 400w required, that's what got this card into the box instead of an ATI equivalent. Windows ratings went from 5.3/5.0 to 5.9/5.9. looks like the AMD 4400+ is the slacker in my PC now with a measly 5 rating :)

Cons: Just check the clearance in your case. It's not HUGE but I was impressed when I layed it next to the 8500. The fan is thrice the old card's size and you can hear it, but it's nothing terrible.

Overall Review: I was MIFFED after I installed this as the image on the LG Flatron 19" had the dread Nvidia Fuzziness, and Vista kept trying to interfere with the EVGA installation. Tried the inf file hack but the installer claimed there was no appropriate drivers after I added the monitor specific lines. Finally I just increased the refresh to 75 from the 60 the nvidia control panel set the card to and BAM.. perfect images. Make sure you have it set to your LCD's highest refresh and you're golden.

Pros: Once you upgrade the firmware it's pretty stable. We've got a few ipods, wireless printer, PS3 along with a tethered PC and a nook color running in the house. At first it was needing a reset every few hours, but it became once a day or 2 with the update.

Cons: The range is pretty sad. Upgraded to DD-WRT and tried to get some more out of it. My wife's Nook and iPod would fail to connect in the next room through a single wall. My old netgear router let me listen to Pandora when mowing the lawn through my iPod, but this can't seem to make it past my front door (I've a small ranch home). If I stand on my front porch 3 other wifi signals appear with nearly full strength from the houses around me but my own fades in and out.

Overall Review: I know this is an old router that's built up a lot of followers, but in my case it's pretty much on the road to extinction. I never realized how good my old netgear cheap-o was until it died after about 4 years. Hopefully that wasn't a fluke as I just ordered another one from new egg after having to make excuses for the upteenth time to the wife about why she can't play poker on her ipod in the bedroom..
