Excellent value
Pros: I have 3 of these. They have solid construction, excellent ventilation and room for a mess of hard drives. The hard drive and cd rom cages are easily removed for service. Filter in the front cover helps reduce dust.
Cons: Case construction is good and could be better. However at this price point it's hard to call it a negative.
Overall Review: Works well with the NORCO RL-20 rails
Nice successor to the WKB-4000US
Pros: I purchased this unit to replace a WKB-4000US that I've been using for a couple years. The new unit is the same size but a little squarer. The keyboard itself is compact without feeling too small. Overall the unit feels sturdy in my hands and has a good typing feel. The touchpad has a textured surface that I prefer over the smooth surface of the WKB-4000US. The wireless range is good (~30' in my environment) and unaffected by the 2.4g wireless router sitting nearby. Like the rest of my home theater gear it's all black which I prefer over the silver and gray of the WKB-4000US. Unfortunately that might make it harder to find when I leave it laying around (the WKB-4000US always stuck out) but I consider it a good trade. The USB receiver dongle is about half the size of the WKB-4000US dongle which used to protrude prominently from the front of my HTPC. With the new dongle I'm far less concerned that a random swipe might break it off. Nice keyboard.
Cons: Time will tell if this is a con but it only uses 2 AAA batteries as opposed to 4 in the WKB-4000US. I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to be changing batteries all the time.
Solid piece of equipment
Pros: Excellent value. Outside of the plastic handle it's very well built. Insertion and removal is relatively smooth. Works exactly as advertised with a minimum of drama. Drive stays remarkably cool. I didn't notice any additional fan noise.
Cons: Nothing huge. Plastic drive handle requires careful use. I haven't broken one yet (I bought 3 of these) but it's obvious it wouldn't take much muscle to do it. I'm sure that with a little caution it'll last forever. I don't care for the way the drive caddy lid is secured. It uses a single screw that unscrews to sort of hold the lid in place. Could be done better.
