Speedy

Pros: Fast transfer speeds, quick Windows 7 boot, low program loading latency, low power consumption
Cons: Not completely compatible with Intel based laptops, requires registry modification for proper operation
Overall Review: This is the fastest drive for the money (although the difference between it and the Vertex 2 were only slight for me). Unfortunately, you have to modify the registry (Windows 7 and Sandy Bridge laptop) to get this drive to perform as designed (otherwise it causes your system to pause for about 2 minutes after every boot) as there is some incompatibility issue with Intel's Link Power Management. More information about this issue can be found on the web. I believe the pausing issue may only be limited to Intel based laptops, but since I'm not in the desktop market, it may also affect those types of computers as well. If you have (or are getting) a Sandy Bridge computer (i.e. new Intel iCore) and are not very tech savvy, I would recommend another drive at this time since the pausing issue eliminates the advantage of SSDs over HDDs.
Incompatible

Pros: Recongnized as 1333Mhz, quick delivery
Cons: Incompatible with Aspire 5750. Module construction different than pictured.
Overall Review: Not compatible with Acer Aspire 5750-9668 (Sandy Bridge i7), crashes immediately following POST. This is unfortunate as I have never had any problem with Crucial memory before. I noticed the RAM module construction was different for the ones I received than what Newegg has pictured. What I received was the Chinese DX111VJ.FP instead of the American BG1129V.SH pictured. The main difference being the Chinese one has 16 chips where the American one has 8 chips. I'm unsure if that is reason for the incompatibility with the Aspire 5750, but is a possibility.
Not cost efficient

Pros: Quick loading times and good with anything that requires lots of random reads.
Cons: Overall performance is not much better than my WD 250GB HDD. Compatibility issues with Windows XP and older SATA II motherboards. 40GB is too small to load all my applications on it in addition to Windows Vista.
Overall Review: I got this for a boot drive on my old nForce4 machine; however, it is not compatible with that chipset or Windows XP (random reboots, Toolbox inoperable, etc.). The drive works well on my Inspiron 1525 with a noticeable improvement over my 500GB HDD; although not as drastic of a difference as I had hoped. Overall, I'm disappointed with the lack of performance.
Not great for XP

Pros: More responsive than HDDs.
Cons: Price, Intel Optimization Toolbox doesn't work completely. 40GB is a little small for a boot drive, 64GB is a better size.
Overall Review: I got this drive specifically because I wanted to upgrade to an SSD, but was still using Windows XP. Intel provides a toolbox for optimizing this drive on systems that do not have a TRIM supported operating system (e.g. Win. XP); however, the optimization tool never worked for me. Being able to manually TRIM the drive is not worth the cost of RMAing the drive.
Annoying disappointment

Pros: Large capacity, fairly fast, quiet (when it isn't constantly starting and stopping).
Cons: Intermittent clicking, poor build quality, possibly not compatible with Inspiron 1525.
Overall Review: WD's customer support is very good; had to RMA the first one because of an intermittent clicking noise and it failing the WD diagnostics. The replacement drive arrived quickly; however, it suffered from the same clicking problem despite passing the diagnostics. Like others have stated, it works well as an external, but as an internal, the clicking might drive you crazy. Overall, a rather disappointing upgrade.
Good on HDMI or DVI

Pros: Nice panel, displays colors vividly and images sharply.
Cons: The analog connection stopped displaying 1920x1200 properly for no reason. The lack of raised buttons makes adjustments a pain, especially in the dark. Cheap stand. Dynamic contrast is annoying to work with because of the constantly changing brightness levels.
Overall Review: This is a no frills monitor with a good LCD panel. For some strange reason the analog connection stopped working properly a little over a year after I got it.
