Almost everything I expected

Corsair Neutron Series GTX 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-N120GBGTX-BK
Corsair Neutron Series GTX 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-N120GBGTX-BK

Pros: Fast, light, battery friendly; everything my first SSD promised. Haven't bench marked but just from boot time this thing is crazy fast.

Cons: Was a royal pain to install in my Sony but likely nothing to do with the product and everything to do with Sony Bios. My laptop locked up after recent windows update a few weeks back and would not display anything on the monitor. I too thought it would not awake from sleep state and put in original hard drive which booted fine. Further troubleshooting revealed that the laptop was not sending video to the local display but I could send video to an external display. After some more troubleshooting the problem magically went away and I have not had any problems since.

Overall Review: I absolutely love this SSD. I don't use windows sleep or hibernate... it takes about the same time to boot the machine as it does to recover from these long problematic modes anyway so if I were sp408 my machine would have never been in sleep. Perhaps the problem sp408 describes is the same thing I experienced... how do you tell if an SSD is dead anyway? It's not like the drive spins up and makes noise. You have to plug in to a functioning system and use software to diagnose.

HyperX 4GB (4 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Quad Kit Desktop Memory Model KHX8500D2K4/4G

Pros: Cheap and stable (at actual clock speeds).

Cons: This product is falsely advertised as "1066MHz DDR2 (5-5-5-15)." It is actually DDR2 800 memory with those timings. According to Kingston's spec. sheet, "each module kit has been tested to run at DDR2- 1066MHz at a latency timing of 5-5-5-15 at 2.2V," which means you have to ramp up the voltage and change the timings in your bios. Unfortunately, while I was able to run the RAM at 1066 MHz I was unable to use those timings. Instead, my ram is running 5-7-7-24... significantly less performance than advertised.

Overall Review: I considered being nice and giving it a better rating, but false advertising selling ram SPD tabled to DDR2 800 but advertised as DDR2 1066 is not cool. Shame on Kingston! Shame on me for not reading others reviews. Who can you trust these days? Mobo: Gigabyte P35-DS3L Rev. A2 Bios F7 CPU: Intel Quad Q6600 GO OS: Vista 32 Ultimate SP1
