Update on previous review
Pros: Speeds are as advertised
Cons: None at the moment
Overall Review: Update to my prior posting - I did contact ADATA and they were extremely fast and prompt in giving me an RMA, and even offered to exchange it for a different model of a higher capacity. I had some personal things in my life that prevented me from sending out my drive (it really was due to the sandforce controller), and customer support actually checked up on me to make sure I still wanted to send the product back. They also mentioned that they had firmware in testing, and offered me a link to try it out. I still didn't have a chance, but by the time I did, the public firmware came out - I downloaded that, patched my drive, and since then, I have not had any issues since. So, I'm revising my review to reflect the product's performance and the excellent customer support ADATA gave. Thanks guys!
DOA - Nuff' Said
Pros: None
Cons: Unit arrived dead on arrival. We sent it to our data center several states away to perform a restore from a backup we had at our dc. Our techs tried to get it to recognize on our four servers via USB, and it would not work. They also mentioned that the drive had some really odd rotational properties (such as if they put it on a turntable, it would probably rotate the turntable on its own). Very dissapointed and will now buy brand name drive/enclosures from now on. We do not have the luxury of returning the drive and replacing it.
