Power House

ABS Tagan BZ Series BZ1100 1100 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified PipeRock type modular cable with colorful LED Active PFC Patent Piperock Modular Power Supply
ABS Tagan BZ Series BZ1100 1100 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified PipeRock type modular cable with colorful LED Active PFC Patent Piperock Modular Power Supply

Pros: This is a power house of a PS, This thing has enough power to run everything I have plus have room for upgrades. I want to upgrade to two 8800 GTX vid cards. The cables are long, so it should fit even the biggest cases. I like the case that comes with it so you can keep all the unused cable in one spot. Comes with separate PCI-E 6Pin cables (4-each) so you can upgrade to two 8800 vid cards. Each had a dedicated connection on the PS. The SATA to Molex connection adaptors is also a nice touch - Keeps you from running extra cables for just one connection. Also comes with a rubber gasket to stop vibration. I did not use the gasket because it was a tight fit in my case and did not have room for it. But, I do not have any vibration.

Cons: This thing sucks the power, I have a small UPS and it could not handle the power consumption. Drained the battery and started beeping because of low battery. But thats a problem with me and my UPS. There are a few built in cable that I did not use. i.e the 4pin CPU cable and the two 6-pin. Wish I had the option to disconnect them. I just tied them off and tucked them away out of sight.

Overall Review: Over all, the best PS I ever got. System specs; Case – Antech 800, CPU – Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor, Memory - OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory, Motherboard – BFG 680i, Video Card – EVGA GeForce 8800GTX Superclocked 768MB

OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2RPR8002GK

Pros: I like the speed increase. And the large heat sink was not an issue. This was an upgrade from Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory. I have not tried to OC this memory yet, but looks easy to do and will try it this weekend and will update with results.

Cons: This memory is listed as EPP-Ready SLI-Ready and NVIDIA SLI certified. But my motherboard BIOS does not recognize it as SLI memory. The main reason I got this memory was for the SLI. :(

Overall Review: My system; BFG 680i SLI motherboard, 4-1GB OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), 2 – BFG 7950 GT OC SLI vid cards. Intel Q6600. If I can get the SLI to work, I’ll update this review

Pros: Update to my last review: OK, I've had this power supply for a few weeks now, and it is great. Nvidia just released the 780i mb so you can now have 3 - 8800 vid cards. According to nVidia's web site/ SLI Zone/ Certified Products - this PS will handle the 3 way SLI.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Time to upgrade to a 3 way!!!

Pros: Just got mine today and received the G0 Step. If the PROD CODE ends in SLACR you have a G0 Step if the PROD CODE ends in SL9UM you got a B3. You can find the PROD CODE on the box and on the SLACR & SL9UM code is on the chip Good price and like the speed increase. I'll try to OC it soon

Cons: None yet, Will update later if I have any

Overall Review: It works, it fast and I can overclock it.
