Quick, Reliable, Great Value

Western Digital Blue WD2500AAJS 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Blue WD2500AAJS 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: For an economy drive, it performs exceptionally. Fast transfers. Also, the drive is very quiet - I rarely hear it. Very affordable storage. Thank you Western Digital and newegg!

Cons: The negative reviews for this drive are without merit. To those complaining that an OEM drive did not include cables is utterly ridiculous. OEM hard drive means just the drive - no cables, no mounting hardware, no software, no User Guide. If you need all of these things, either buy a Retail drive, or plan intelligently in advance of your purchase.

Overall Review: I have been using Western Digital drives for at least the past 10 years now. The only drive that ever failed on me is one that I purchased used. All others are still working, or have been retired due to their age. Kudos to WD for producing high-quality, reliable drives consistently throughout the years.

cheap - driver problems

SABRENT SBT-WCCK USB 2.0 USB Color Web Camera with Built-in Audio Microphone
SABRENT SBT-WCCK USB 2.0 USB Color Web Camera with Built-in Audio Microphone

Pros: Very inexpensive. Works OK for something this cheap, however....

Cons: The bundled drivers on the included CD are buggy. Original drivers give acceptable picture quality, however they are VERY UNSTABLE. They may work for awhile without problem, but you will eventually suffer a serious system crash. You will get the BSOD, then Windows will restart. After reboot, XP will state that it has recovered from a serious system crash. If you send a report to Microsoft, you get a webpage suggesting a new driver. The new driver version (SPCA561.sys by Sunplus Tech Co, Ltd.) offers stability, however the image quality is no longer acceptable. It looks all green like nightvision, and it cannot be corrected with any adjustment to the software. Furthermore, the new software is also buggy. Changing the color correction setting inverts the image to upside-down. What's worse? Sabrent doesn't seem to offer any driver newer that what was included on the CD. Buy something from a more reputable brand. Your 10 bucks will be wasted on this product.

Overall Review: If it weren't for the very poor driver support, I might actually give this a good rating. Frankly, giving two eggs is incredibly generous.

Works well

BYTECC HM-VGA005 HDMI-A to VGA Female Adapter/Converter
BYTECC HM-VGA005 HDMI-A to VGA Female Adapter/Converter

Pros: Works in my new laptop which only features an HDMI out for an external monitor. The monitor at my workplace is an older LCD that only features VGA input with a 1280x1024 resolution. Was not sure if it would work, but I took the gamble and won. It works perfectly.

Cons: None for me really. Maybe the requirement for external power via USB? But not really.

Overall Review: Wish I had found this initially on Newegg. Went into a local store to buy something else that they said they had in stock, but was nowhere to be found when I visited that store. They bait-switched me to the HM-VGA005 at a much higher price than Newegg. Their customer service was also terrible. Newegg has always had stellar customer service, and fast shipping. I really wish that I had purchased from Newegg as it would have saved me a great deal of time and frustration.

Got lemonade out of a lemon.

BYTECC HMD-15 15 ft. Black HDMI Male to DVI-D Male HDMI High Speed Male to DVI-D Male Single Link Cable Male to Male
BYTECC HMD-15 15 ft. Black HDMI Male to DVI-D Male HDMI High Speed Male to DVI-D Male Single Link Cable Male to Male

Pros: Newegg customer service exceeded my expectations, again. Bytecc customer support was also helpful. Cable seems well constructed. Beyond that, not much I can say.

Cons: It kept losing connection between my monitor and graphics card. Grumble.....

Overall Review: Tried updating graphics drivers to see if that was the cause.. Nope. Checked GPU temp... completely reasonable 44C. Reset the monitor. No change. Finally tried a DVI-D cable from another monitor... problem disappeared. Bytecc customer support suggested a possible faulty cable. Contacted Newegg about RMA, and they were very accommodating. I have another cable on order. Newegg's customer service is one of the things that keeps me coming back again and again. They are polar opposites to some other businesses I have dealt with recently. Keep up the good work Newegg!

Fantastic bargain

SAMSUNG 2333T High Glossy Black 23" 8ms Full HD WideScreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR 50,000:1 (CR 4,000:1)
SAMSUNG 2333T High Glossy Black 23" 8ms Full HD WideScreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR 50,000:1 (CR 4,000:1)

Pros: Gorgeous display. The PVA panel is far superior to TN panels. The colors are so much more vibrant and realistic compared to my other LCD displays. I initially purchased just one, but loved it so much that I bought a second.

Cons: This display was 'Deactivated' by newegg last time I checked. Glad to see they came to their senses and reactivated it. Oh well... another store got my business, and for a lower price than the egg.

Overall Review: For the price, this display is a no brainer. Large 23-inch PVA panel display at 1920x1080. I had the first one next to a more expensive 24-inch LG, and this made that "nice" monitor look pretty ho-hum. This blows away other displays in the same price category. The colors on other TN panel displays just look washed out and inferior to the 2333T. Well worth the money!!!

Kinda neat; Kinda cheap

STKR Concepts Light Mine Professional- Hands- Free Flashlight
STKR Concepts Light Mine Professional- Hands- Free Flashlight

Pros: Four light modes, comes in handy for various situations. It's an orb with magnets that allows many different mounting positions. Uses standard batteries (3 AAA's).

Cons: Cheap construction. Have had just over a week and when I pulled it away from a steel plate, one of the magnets broke off the orb and stayed stuck to the steel. These magnets are "glued" on. Apparently a very cheap glue as well. How much testing did the manufacturer do with this product? How hard would it have been to engineer a better method of connecting the magnets than some bargain basement glue? Cheap Chinese garbage!!!!!

Overall Review: Smelled like gasoline when I opened the package. And then that stink transferred to my hands. Nasty! When will America change its habits and stop depending on China for manufactured goods. Yes, there is some good product coming from China, but so much more of it is GARBAGE!

seller OK, product quality problems

No complaints about the seller. The product sold, however, needs to address some glaring quality issues. The product in question is the Striker Magnetic light Mine PROFESSIONAL. Within days of purchase, the magnets started coming loose from the flashlight. Whatever "glue" they used, it is subpar at best. Or perhaps there is some other factor causing the glue to not adhere permanently. Either way, there is a definite lack of quality. Perhaps they should use a combination of methods to make the magnets never come loose from the flashlight. How? Perhaps one end of the magnets could be threaded like a screw, and fastened into the flashlight with a very strong adhesive to make it so the magnets could never come loose. The product manufacturer and market seller need to offer some kind of remedy to fix the failings with their product. Other than the quality failures, the product is very handy if it can be positioned properly where magnets have not come loose.
