quite the bargain

Pros: Plays COD:Black Ops flawlessly at max settings. Works with my blu ray player to play 1080i full screen without any problems. I replaced a GTS 250 that was having issues with heat and stuttering. According to my 3dmark06 scores this outperforms the 250 by about 40%. It is a bargain at its current price.
Cons: During burn in it got very hot compared to other cars I've used over the years. It made me uncomfotable to exceed 90 celsius but apparently that is a "normal" full load temp for this GPU. Its fan hardly registers when playing COD, so it is not stressed by my kind of gaming.
Overall Review: This seems to me to be a price-performance champion, at least among Nvidia offerings. I have a 480 watt PSU and sure wouldn't want any less with this card. Haven't tried yet but I am expecting the greater number of stream processors to make a big difference in recoding video with my Z68 motherboard, an i5-2400 and "Virtu."
Warning- device conflict

Pros: By itself, it works as it should
Cons: It uses the same frequency to receive its signal as logitech wireless mouse, and the cannot coexist (mouse freezes when keyboard receiver is plugged int any USB port)
Overall Review: Targus support advises that some wireless mice use a different frequency. They probably mean their own. I will use this on a system with a wired mouse, but I had hoped to achieve wire-free mouse and keyboard at the same time.
Resolution pretty good

Pros: I did my homework before selecting this particular item. This system has relatively high resolution cameras relative to other models and competitors. Higher resolution means a larger, more accurate capture field. With these cameras, you can recognize a face at 35 to 40 feet, while lower res cameras require the burglar to put his face up to the lens and hold still. The 500 Gb drive is supposed to hold two weeks of 24/7 feed from all 4 cameras before overwriting, so don't take a three week vacation. :)
Cons: I bought this for a friend but tested it to be sure it worked. These are mass produced in China (what isn't?) and the quality of some components could be better. Had to tape cord to power supply for reliable contacts. The graphic user interface is primitive, but my friend managed to set it up and master replay even though he has no tech skills. Use the mouse, not the remote or the panel buttons.
Overall Review: IMHO, this package offers best bang for buck and satisfies the need to have a video record that would prove the identity of anyone in a front yard or a room. The display is pretty clear with good color except in low light. When it is dark, the infrared lamps kick in and the image is even clearer except that it is black and white. when IR lamps are lit, the cameras can be seen, so place them above ordinary reaching distance if you can. We set up the system so the DVR is in a locked steel cabinet, and even if the cameras are disabled or stolen, the recording will still be around. Also, use motion sensing unless you want to have to look through hours of still video to find the moment of action.
not with my linksys

Pros: The good news is that Newegg will take this back
Cons: would not work with my linksys router
Overall Review: I am not a dummy. I was able to connect to and extend the signal from my neighbor's router (a netgear router) but when I tried to connect with my linksys router, I got a different result - no internet access. I tried this with the extender 3 feet from my linksys. It worked with the netgear router 75 feet away. The problem is with the product.
OCZ REBATE FRAUD

Pros: I already had one of these, and it works well if the firmware is upgraded to the latest spec. I have no complaint about the product.
Cons: I am an attorney, I speak English, and I affixed the UPC code from inside the plastic packaging, attached to the cardboard insert, in applying for a rebate. I got a message that I had affixed the "shipping label barcode" and so my rebate is denied. This is simply false. You should not buy OCZ products based upon after-rebate prices because OCZ is a FL.
Overall Review: I am certainly not the only one to complain of OCZ rebate fraud. Look at other reviews. The numbers of different prople who have had the same experience is fairly persuasive evidence. OCZ is counting on the reality that no one will sue them for a $20 rip off. Be a smart consumer and pay the extra $20 to get a competitor's equally reliable and speedy SSD.
useful item, poor quality control

Pros: Pretty good price for a laser level that works for basic construction. Great for setting tiles, hanging paintings, etc, all without having to mark chalklines. The laser puts a red line on the surface, not just a point.
Cons: the user must use the old fashioned bubbles to level the device before shooting a line on walls. There are two bubble levels, but one was empty, either cracked in packaging or never filled to begin with. One is enough. It's not worth the time and effort to enforce the warranty, as with most consumer goods these days.
Overall Review: Booklet says this model is accurate to within 1/2 inch at 30 feet. If you need to do precision work on a larger area, there is another model that is accurate to 1/4 inch at 60 feet.
