What a great hard drive!

SAMSUNG Spinpoint M Series HM160HI 160GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
SAMSUNG Spinpoint M Series HM160HI 160GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Runs quietly, runs cool, and is fast. Great price.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I stuck this in my Dell laptop, replacing the Fujitsu one I had in there. Not only is it amazingly quieter, but it runs cooler (according to hwmonitor) and is really fast. With the Fujitsu (2120BH model), I could hear the grinding and loud click noises for the 3 years I used it. With this new Samsung drive, I can barely even hear the hdd being accessed, and with a fresh install of Windows 7, the startup, shutdown, and app loading time is great. For being the cheapest hdd of its kind on newegg, I am very impressed. You can't beat the price.

I've had quieter...

Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT 250GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT 250GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: -It has great value - 250gb for 45 bucks is a good deal. -It was quieter than the old Fujitsu drive I used to have, though it could be quieter (see cons). -It runs at about 36 degrees C during everyday activities, which is average.

Cons: It isn't as quiet as my Samsung Spinpoint which I replaced. You can easily hear the hard drive seeking in a medium quiet to quiet room... and when it does seek, it also makes a whisper noise. At first, I thought my laptop fan was going up and down w/ hard drive seeking. I now realize it's the hdd itself.... so it's not the quietest drive around.

Overall Review: Of course it's quiet in an xbox. The xbox's fan is louder than the drive. However, if you work in a quiet setting, I recommend going for a slightly quieter drive than this one. -I can make the hard drive quieter by using 'Notebook Hardware Control' software and setting the acoustic mode to max performance. However, this makes the hard drive idle around 40-41 degrees, so I turned it off.

Great product.

TP-LINK TL-WR541G IEEE 802.11b/g eXtended Range Wireless G Router up to 54Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: Have owned this for 4 months with no problems. Signal reaches across our house (down a hallway and through a wall) with full bars, even the basement. Don't buy the expensive stuff. This is all you need.

Cons: none

Overall Review: The software is lame. Use the web interface.

Works with Charter

Pros: I have owned this product for 5 weeks without any problems. I was a little worried because Charter only rents out Motorola brand modems, but we bought this linksys one instead. We called Charter, gave them the Mac address, and it has worked fine ever since. Very small, nice looking, simple.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: When you plug in the modem, it tests the connection, upstream, downstream, etc... We first hooked it up after the cable line was put through 2 splitters. It would not get past the 'upstream' test with this setup. We then moved it up in the chain where the cable was only split once. This setup worked fine... just thought I'd add that.
