ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI EXTREME AM4 AMD X370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Extended ATX AMD Motherboard

ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI EXTREME AM4 AMD X370 USB 3.1 Extended ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI EXTREME AM4 AMD X370 USB 3.1 Extended ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: 1) Works perfect out of the box with G.skill 3200mhz ram(no cold boot issues). 2) Overclocked like a dream 1600x @4.1 under a h110i 100% stable, got more room just need more time. 3) Quality built, one of the heaviest and most sturdy MB I've ever handled. 4) Loads of pwm controlled fan headers, 13 in total.

Cons: A few small things worth noting, but not enough to deduct. 1) Aura keeps freaking out on restart, and not keeping my color. 2) The two blocks of four RAD fans are groups not individual with the first in each being the rpm reporting one(that one took a hot minute to figure out). 3) there is no internal USB 2.0(dual), it is only a single so an AIO won't work on it. So if you have an AIO get a USB 3.0 to 2.0 internal cable. It has 2 USB 3.0 connectors.

Overall Review: I own the normal CH6 as well, have had loads less issues with this one(guess it's what i get going Ryzen day one). Glad to see at least ASUS offer a true enthusiast level motherboard for Ryzen, again love my CH6, just wanted all the bells and whistles.

Overall Review: Loved my 1800x so much had to build another.

Pros: Small, with a little modding it has great airflow, room for my EATX and everything else.

Cons: The stock fans are pretty horrible, and a little too close to the front panel. Wish the indicator lights where white from the factory. The HDD/SDD tray and non tray placement are meh. I tried to order one of these with the blue lights and the shipping company, on-trac "misplaced" it. After a lengthy wait Newegg gave me a refund, and i went for the non led fan version.

Overall Review: By my review you would think I'm unhappy? To the extreme opposite, after cutting out the 2x140mm/3x80mm debacle i was able to put the fans on the inside of the 4x120mm bracket, giving perfect airflow. There is a perfect amount of lip to the case to hide the LED strips for a perfect glow, and the dark glass gives it enough to tame it down. I love cube cases, I've had the Air 240, Air 540, and the Air 740, all seemed to lack a little something. This one checks all boxes with just a little mod.

SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 390 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 2.2 Slot, ATX Graphics Card 100382NTOCL

Pros: Runs cool 31c idle, 62c was the highest i saw gaming. I traded up from a 7950, and was very surprised based on other comments that it runs cooler while delivering much more.

Cons: For the people leaving bad reviews on this card... The card is indeed 12" in length, do some research... Use TRIXX and set a custom fan profile @50% fan speed unless you are fan less it's pretty darn quiet. Lastly, if you are moving from one AMD card to another(or any video card to any for that matter) don't just put drivers on top of drivers... delete the old and install the fresh ones...

Like taking a gun, to a knife fight

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Couldn't ask for more. It does all i ask with a smile. I replaced a 8120 with(which replaced a 965 i love to tinker) this and couldn't be happier. Still using the same UD7 i bought 3 years ago. 5.2 stable and cool 24/7 on a H20(got it to 5.7 but didn't need it).

Cons: This is a real big con, i keep having to shoo my wife off my pc. The reason this is bad is i just built her a long term i7-3770 set up(same high end parts as my toy ssd etc.) which set me back more than my upgrades over the last 3 years.... She tells me "your computer feels more alive" and "why does my computer get the blue circle more than yours?", guess outside of nerds with benchmarks that Intel doesn't win......

Overall Review: It never slows down surfing or using office. its fast with 7zip. It plays all my games as fast as eyes can see. Is there more to life? I'm pleased!
