Pros: cheap way to add 8 drives to your system.
Cons: lack of documentation will add frustration and possible rma with the use of the wrong cables. one egg for that! but for the price i would have taken two eggs thanks for eggcellent rma support i got the right cables for this model. Also thanks to the reviewers of the 3ware forward breakout cables.
Overall Review: if you need to connect to discrete ports on your back plane or to separate disks and need a break out cable make sure you use a sff-8087 FORWARD break out cable. if you use a reverse break out cable the card will not see the drives. There is very little info on this out there and it is not any where in the documentation for the card or on mfg web site. i downloaded the manual for this card and could not find the solution anywhere except in reviews of the cables themselves and not for this card model. I tried referring to the sata spec and did not find helpful knowledge there, seems to be an inside secret of the IT guru world. kinda like a joke! make sure you do your homework.
not exactly what i had in mind
Pros: it has a touch pad but not as i had hoped
Cons: the reason i bought this keyboard was the one i had the touch pad died now the touch pad is often the reason i would like to throw it away the first one had several keys that did not work the touch pad is in a bad location your thumbs constantly activate the pointer jumping the type to where it is hovering. my old keyboard had some distance from the space bar and to the right making it handy i miss the ergo layout as well i am constantly mashing the wrong keys my fault i guess.
Overall Review: newegg was quick to replace the bad keyboard for that i am grate full and as always they are great to work with thanks new egg even though the product is less than what i hoped for new egg is the best!
does not play well with others
Pros: looks nice, lots of features, sata III seems solid lots of bells and whistles
Cons: had stability issues with raid cards blue screens had a hot point rocket raid 2720gl eight lane controller it crashed the worst with that. switched to an adaptec RAID 6805E. that card ran better but still it gave me random bluescreens. i dont know what caused the conflicts the memory access or the onboard graphics but it was not a happy build for me. its back to asus for me.
Overall Review: for the price it should have performed better and should not have conflicted with the add on raid.
Pros: has that furniture look for a htpc styled like a old time radio. front ports are convenient.
Cons: as on reviewer put it shoddy construction. it was anything but a joy to put a full size atx board in. one standoff was missing. the wood aspect left little to shied the computer components and the wood resonates with every seek of the hard drive. anything but a silent build. with a little more effort and quality parts it would be a nice case. the beauty here is only skin deep and the ugliness is to the bone on the inside.
Overall Review: its really good looking on the out side if you do a little extra work on it it might work for you. I suggest you don't put the hard drive caddy in place till you route wires and completely do the wiring. dont use the screws they provide to mount the hard drive caddy. they strip easily. if you have add on cards you have to remove the black plastic strip above the io plates. remove the back fan before you try to install the board. an awl to start the hole for the screws using the slotted holes on the drive holder will go a long way using your own screws which should be longer will help save some aggravation, you may want some wood glue to seat the screws with and metal brackets to reinforce the ledges the drive caddy rests on.
