Excellent TV Tuner... if you have WinXP

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800 MCE - White Box 1129 PCI-Express x1 Interface
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800 MCE - White Box 1129 PCI-Express x1 Interface

Pros: Uses PCI-E. Finally found a card that uses this slot. No problems under Win XP Pro. Installed fine. Drivers were downloaded from web. Scheduling was easy. I had no problems picking up Analog signals. Digital- I didn't try. Quality - now this was great. Coupled with Samsung 206bw and logitech x-230 I got a great TV viewing experience. Quality is fantastic for SD Transmission. Tuning program worked well. Recorded shows played fine and in good quality. No log watching TV or changing channels FM Radio works great. Other inputs - I didn't try. I have older ATI All-in-wonder 8500 and this blows it away.

Cons: Don't use bundled CD. Download drivers from web. Poor linux drivers. Mythbuntu failed and I was bummed. Even latest Hg drivers ( conexant ) failed. Hence I reduced it by 1 star.

Overall Review: Linux is big. Hauppauge should be ashamed and come out with Linux/Win/Mac drivers simultaneously.

Not for gaming

Victake Precision 8000 DPI Gaming Mouse - 6 Speed DPI Adjustment, 13 Light Modes, 8 Buttons, Optical Engine Power for Pro Gamer/Office - Black
Victake Precision 8000 DPI Gaming Mouse - 6 Speed DPI Adjustment, 13 Light Modes, 8 Buttons, Optical Engine Power for Pro Gamer/Office - Black

Pros: + looks cool + price is very low

Cons: - HUGE. As an average guy I felt this mouse was huge in my palm - annoying lights that don't go away - lights seem to randomly change which got annoying as well - very imprecise. Something about the movement felt sluggish and imprecise - tons of buttons that seem to get in the way actually - for gaming it actually feels very low res dpi - there's a flickering red light at bottom which is very archaic and not good

Overall Review: Switched back to Logitech G302 mouse. I feel that is the best mouse for gaming and other purposes.

Super high CPU temps

MSI GL75 Leopard 10SFK-029 - 17.3" 144 Hz - Intel Core i7-10750H - GeForce RTX 2070 - 16 GB DDR4 - 1 TB HDD + 512 GB SSD - Windows 10 Home - Gaming Laptop
MSI GL75 Leopard 10SFK-029 - 17.3" 144 Hz - Intel Core i7-10750H - GeForce RTX 2070 - 16 GB DDR4 - 1 TB HDD + 512 GB SSD - Windows 10 Home - Gaming Laptop

Pros: - Fantastic price - Great and gorgeous 17.3" screen with thin bezels giving it a sleek look - Love the per key light control on keyboard - 2070 renders games really well. - 144Hz display means you get very smooth frame rates - Specs are really good - Keyboard feel is great

Cons: - Very very high CPU temps. In Mafia: Definitive Edition, it hit 99C ! - GPU temps are 75C - Fans are VERY loud and it seems to only be on left side with hot air blowing out - I suspect thermal paste not applied for CPU? Why is it THIS hot? Even the Gigabyte I had before was never this hot despite poor cooling in that - Storage expansion doesn't really exist. You have just 1 x M.2 Sata and 1 x 7200rpm HDD. No more? - had a couple of instances of keyboard repeating chars (like you see on wireless keyboards)

Overall Review: - I'm not sure if I need servicing now given such high CPU temps as that worries me that something was not done right. Hopefully they can fix it as that drastically reduces longevity of laptop plus the fans being super loud means you can't really hear the game/audio well without headphones.

Decent headset with bad ear piece design

PLANTRONICS 201030-01 Slate Grey Voyager Edge Mobile Bluetooth Headset
PLANTRONICS 201030-01 Slate Grey Voyager Edge Mobile Bluetooth Headset

Pros: + good voice quality + they can hear me well, I can hear them well + no issues pairing, connecting etc. + has a nice charge case and both can be charged via micro usb instead of proprietary cabling + can see charge status nicely with a swipe and lady announces charge time remaining

Cons: - the big main button interferes very often and you can accidentally end the call - BAD, really bad ear plastic pieces. The guy who designed this should be given a new job - ear piece is also not well designed to hold it in ear properly

Great laptop but gets a bit warm

GIGABYTE - 17.3" FHD - Intel Core i7-6700HQ - GeForce GTX 1070 - 16GB Memory DDR4 2133 - 256GB SSD - Windows 10 Home 64-Bit ()
GIGABYTE - 17.3" FHD - Intel Core i7-6700HQ - GeForce GTX 1070 - 16GB Memory DDR4 2133 - 256GB SSD - Windows 10 Home 64-Bit ()

Pros: + price was pretty good. < $1500 with a free game and a headset. newegg had best price among competition and laptop sold out at that price eventually + quite lightweight (but I have concerns with venting) + very fast. Core i7 skylake with a gtx 1070 and 16GB 2133MHz mem and SSD + 1TB HDD. + everything plays on ultra at present. + DVD drive that can be replaced by an SSD + 17.3" screen which is bright and nice + not much bloatware. Smart manager is actually useful + good wifi adapters + text on screen is nice and sharp and I prefer 1080 display to 4k display where everything is super small and tiny + speakers aren't bad. In fact they do a pretty good job + fast shipping from newegg on laptop but not on headset. Still waiting after 12 days

Cons: - during gaming right side of keyboard gets quite hot. - temps: idle = cpu is 45C, gpu is 42C, load (hitman on ultra or gta v on ultra or jc3 on ultra) - cpu 75-77C, gpu - 75-82C using a laptop cooler didn't help a lot. Doesn't seem to have enough vents and gets quite hot - trackpad is inaccurate - only 3 usb ports. Should have at least 5 nowadays - no gsync for those who care about this. game looks very smooth so not required with vsync to avoid screen tear - no 120Hz but I had 120Hz before and I found it no different than 60Hz. So I don't care about 120Hz on this for that. I used my 120Hz with nvidia 3d vision but 3d vision is now superseded by VR (which has built in 3d) so it is still good - FAN NOISE - during gaming, it is just sitting near a jet engine. It is super super loud. I use headphone and I can still hear the hum from the fans. It really is loud and I worry it will attract enough lint and other dirt so you have to constantly clean with air duster

Overall Review: ~ keyboard is average ~ keyboard has only 1 light color - white. It has 2 levels of keyboard lighting. Would've liked the fancy colors ~ no caps lock light button. just on screen display. Not a big deal

Seems to work

Antec 761345-75060-8 Expansion slot VGA Cooler
Antec 761345-75060-8 Expansion slot VGA Cooler

Pros: Bought this from Staples. Before, my 3-year old nVidia 8800GT = 72C idle nearing 95C under load ( any 3-D activity really ). After Antec Vcool, my 3-year old nVidia 8800GT = 60C idle nearing 85C under load So it seems to be working. Its quiet, does lower temp by 5C - 15C as promised and has 3 settings. I leave it at max always.

Cons: Is huge. Takes up 2 slots. So if you lots of PCI cards, think twice. Dust magnet. Lots of open chamber, so keep a dust blower handy for monthly cleanup.

Overall Review: nVidia should make proper cooling for its products. They run hot. You shouldn't have to buy after market coolers like this. Also, get the software product from guru3d.com ( newegg is banning that products name). It is a must for nVidia cards to control its fan temp.
