Overall Review: Not Toyo's but darn good for the price = MCC 03RG20
You get what you pay for.
Pros: To begin with lets be realistic about what SHOULD be expected of this fine little device. That said, here's what to expect: 1) A light weight plastic and aluminium case that serves it's purpose. 2) A external USB 2 drive that is going to give you, depending on your system, transfer speeds between 20MBs and 50MBs. USB 2 max is 60MBs and thats share among all of your devices. 3) A great device for storage, back-up, streaming movies and music. 4) RAID 1 (striping) or JBOD (spanning) or Independent drives (running just like they were single drives in single enclosures). 5) RAID 1 or JBOD run the drive at about the same speed as Independent so theres no real performance gain with any of the choices. 6) Not the best design, drives and cables are a tight fit and require a bit of patience to install correctly.
Cons: Well, if your realistic there are no real hardware cons. If there are any real cons I'd say price. I picked a few of these up when they were in the low 20s with free shipping. Much higher and I would have been looking at a different model.
Overall Review: I didn't know who is at fault so I saved this comment for additional thought. The model currently shipping does not have a 6cm "big" fan as noted in the description. This older model has a 4cm fan that, as others have noted, is loud. With the fan unplugged on one of my units - 2 640GB drive were ~42 under full load.
