So Far So Good
Pros: This Review is for the ASRock review rebate program. - Great value for a B550 board. - No issues with install or boot up. - Paired with R5 3600.
Cons: - XMP profile did not work with my RAM (G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB DDR4-3600 F4-3600C18D-16GVK). Had to manually adjust setting to get RAM running at 3534. To be totally fair, this RAM is not on the ASRock qualified list. - Instructions are pretty sparse - helps to have some past experience.
Overall Review: Been watching for this board since the B550s were announced. So far it has been good, definitely recommend for mid-range gaming build. Hoping for an update to address the XMP issue at some point.
Don't buy for any network features
Pros: Sound is solid. Connectivity options are more than adequate. Easy setup with auto MCAAC. Works well in a medium sized room with 5.1 setup. Works well with Harmony remote.
Cons: After working intermittently (very frustrating) for a couple months, AirPlay and all other network functionality ceased entirely last week. Just sits there now saying "PLS WAIT"; appears to be a bad network card. Also does not connect to iPhone via the front USB port. One more nitpick, the OSD menus are depressingly retro in this day and age.
Overall Review: Main frustration here is the failure in such a short period of time, just outside the return window. Pioneer customer service is responsive, but wants me to ship unit for repair on my own dime, or drive to nearest authorized center 50 miles away - only open weekdays 9 - 6. I like the basic performance of the unit, but the added features that sold me on it are now making it a liability. I've read MANY similar complaints about the network connectivity - and no, I'm not just talking about the whole Pandora firmware update. If Pioneer can't offer a quality product with these features at this price, they shouldn't offer it at all.
Died in 13 months
Overall Review: Thought this was a great power supply. Then it died 13 months after install. Not so much now. Will update if the customer service goes well.
