Pros: Bought it with OC in mind. After a few hours fiddling, it's at 3.3ghz with only the stock cooler and a slight voltage bump to 1.3v. A guy on the extremesystems.org forum has one running at 3.8 with moderate V and good cooling.
Cons: No complaints yet!
Includes a FREE CD, chock full of CR*P drivers!
Pros: This may well be a golly-gee wonderful board. If I can get it up and running, I'll let you all know how it goes.
Cons: WFT is wrong with these MB manufacturers? Why is it so hard to include functional drivers?? I seldom bother with the CD, but thought I'd give it a try. It appeared to install the NV chipset drivers OK, I've got ethernet - I think. But after running the stupid app several times (rebooting as I go), I still don't have proper USB drivers suppoet, and still don't have ANY freaking sound. The Realtek CR*P installs, but can't seem to find the CR*P hardware. It's enabled in bios, I swear! It looks like I'll need to rollback, download discrete drivers from each vendor, and re-load the %^% things one at a time. Hey, if I waste a whole day fiddle-farting with it, maybe this worthless pile of p.o.o. will work? I'm running generic WXP/SP2, with NO add-on hardware. It shouldn't be hard....
Overall Review: Why, Gigabyte? WHY is it sooo FREAKING difficult to do this 'driver' thing right?????? Throw me a bone!! I've done this before, plenty of times, and this is the worst Charlie-Foxtrot I've yet encountered.
Works great, mild OC right out of the box.
Pros: Specs are conservative. Mine are running at 1390 and CAS 8 at the stock 1.5v, and may go faster - I haven't had time to experiment. Mushkin honored their warranty of 2x2GB 'Silverline' DIMMs I purchased back in 2010. (One had developed likely solder cracks.) Bought two of these 4GB to keep me going during the RMA.
Cons: None so far.
Works as advertised.
Pros: Passed overnight Memtest run on my Compaq NC6xxx series laptop. No issues at all.
Cons: None
Solid stuff.
Pros: Respectable latencies. Rock solid at rated speeds and timings - overnight Memtest runs are flawless. Good value.
Cons: Not much frequency headroom. At ~1.64V, my system produces sporadic Memtest errors as the memory frequency approaches DDR3 1650. I haven't really goosed the voltage, so can't comment on ultimate OC potential.
Overall Review: Running on an MSI 870A-G54. CPU is an unlocked Ph2-555-X2. I'm not much for blind brand loyalty, but have to say that I've never had any issues with Mushkin RAM modules.
So far, so good.
Pros: Runs cool. Cooler makes mild 'whoosh' sounds but is the quietest fan item in my computer. No driver issues. OC to 745 / 1030 out of the box. A mild voltmod should get the core running in the mid 800's.
Cons: I've had no issues of any sort with this card. 3870 prices have fallen a little quicker than I predicted. Might have waited a few weeks and gotten one instead of the 3850.
Overall Review: Good value.
