AGP Losers, rejoice!

SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950PRO 512MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card 100171L
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950PRO 512MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card 100171L

Pros: If you are a fellow loser hanging on to your AGP mother board because you have a crizap go nowhere job - well hold on to your pants! If you can skip a few lunches and drop your wad on this X1950 Pro AGP card, you will be kickin bawlz and takin names for at least another year of HD gaming goodness! That's right kids, no screw job here, you can play Pixel shader 3 games with high frame rates and excellent performance! I was wondering how this would compare to my current X850XT PE... well let me tell ya, it's quieter, faster and BIGGER! People in these reviews say that this card is bigger then they expected... um... understatement.. this thing looks like a backplane from a friggin IBM 3518! It's WAY bigger then any vid card I have had in the last few years. And in every way, wider, longer (get your mind out of the gutter...) and... well actually it is thinner because it only takes up one slot, not a two slot monster like the others.. Bottom line, I can now play Lost Planet and Bio Shock.

Cons: The card is so friggin big, it's re-taaaaded! No DX10, but who cares?!?! Do you? I know I don't!!! You will probably have to do a lot of rearranging in your case if you have a mid tower like most, but it will fit. Do not be afraid! Won't wash your cloths or do the dishes.

Overall Review: No DX10 support but who the Eff cares? I'm not touching Vista till I get at least a Quad Core and XP simply does not fit the bill. Until then, this is my card! For the price, this sucker rocks. I have no probs with my 500 Watt X-connect PSU and a completely chubbed P4 system. I use a TON of USB junk and fans up the wazoo. Sound card, you name it all slots filled. No reboots, no shutdowns. Know your Tech and you are GTG!!! This card takes two molex connectors, make sure you have them and room in your case.

Not great...

GIGABYTE GK-FORCE K7 FORCE K7 3-color Backlight Stealth Keyboard
GIGABYTE GK-FORCE K7 FORCE K7 3-color Backlight Stealth Keyboard

Pros: Nice weight, nice fit and finish, bight LEDs, nice key press feel, nice braided cloth USB cable

Cons: Scrunched up layout (terrible for gaming my primary buying factor), GHOSTING PROBLEMS!, the worst backspace key of all time.

Overall Review: I really wanted to like this keyboard. As I said, the key press feel is great but with the cons listed above, this sucker is going back. Ghosting? Who has time for that jazz... not me. The backspace is the size of the letter keys. Who came up with this? This is a desktop keyboard, not a laptop - real-estate should not be a factor, the board is not that large. LEDs are TOO bright, you can dial them down, but when you do, they become washed out. The problem with the LEDs mainly, is that they illuminate the letters, but ALSO light bleeds out from every other crack and space between the keys and anywhere else there is a joint. This was supposed to replace my failing Razer Lycosa... not even close. Back to the drawing board.

Suits my needs

Rosewill RBFF-11001 - LUXE Adjustable Tilting Footrest - Two Height Settings, 30-Degree Tilt
Rosewill RBFF-11001 - LUXE Adjustable Tilting Footrest - Two Height Settings, 30-Degree Tilt

Pros: Keeps your feet elevated just enough to be comfortable. No slip removable rubber pad. (Pad is removable for cleaning) Low cost, when purchased on sale Apparent sturdy construction (time will tell) Attractive (not unattractive) Does not scoot around on the floor

Cons: Aside from the elevation of the foot rest, tilt position is not lockable. Limmited fixed adjustment of platform (could be a huge problem for some)

Overall Review: I got this on sale for eighteen bones last week, and it was just what I needed. My office is in the basement where I have a cold tile floor. I needed something that kept my feet off the ground and kept me comfortable. I had been resting my feet on an old sub-woofer, from an ancient set of speakers which was banging the crizap out of my wall. I had enough of that. The cons of this device are small, but worth keeping in mind. Number one, make sure you pay attention to the measurements. When the package arrived, it was much larger than I anticipated but fit well under my desk. From the pictures, I thought it was going to be a lot smaller. Not necessarily a con, but something to pay attention to. Another perceivable con, is the fact that while the height adjustment is, adjustable - it's not vastly adjustable. There are only one or two different elevations available. I would prefer a graduated locking system or something with limitless adjustment in the form of a set screw for fine tuning. Lastly, the platform itself is adjustable as far as pitch is concerned. The problem here is that the pitch adjustment is floating, and has no graduation or stop/lock setting. You might feel like you have the right pitch of the platform to feel comfortable, but the weight of your feet is going to rock the platform as soon as you press them against it. This is not so much a problem for me now, but I can see over time, the joints will get broken in and loose and eventually the platform will become a floppy, sloppy, mess. This is purely conjecture at this point and it may never happen, but sometimes you can just tell by an objects construction. For now, these things are not cons for me, but I can see them being a problem for some people who have a specific idea in mind for this unit. So, is this thing worth the regular price? I would say not really, considering you could make something like this easily out of wood (if you are so inclined...), but for eighteen clams, it's definitely worth a try. It worked out well for me.

Super cool

i.Trek GPS Receiver
i.Trek GPS Receiver

Pros: Small, lightweight, use ANY headphones you want with an 8th inch lead. Digital display (very cool!), USB rechargeable, USB data manageable, polished look, sleek not lame. awesome sound quality, awesome mic with incredible quality, SUPER easy to use and more features then I expected. This thing has far surpassed my expectations. Excellent price.

Cons: This is a high quality PIECE! The only thing I can possibly consider a Con is that it has a non removable rechargeable battery. If this battery goes, that's the end of the device, so take care!

Overall Review: It's very easy to use this device without looking at it at all. Clips to your shirt, coat, seatbelt what ever. Outstanding. Design is so ergonomic it's super simple to operate. Had it working about 5 seconds out of the box with my Samsuni Blackjizack. what more can I say? JAWSOME!

Excellent

D-Link DI-808HV Broadband VPN Router
D-Link DI-808HV Broadband VPN Router

Pros: Nice smaller size, 8 100 full speed wired ports. Serial port for administration if you wish. Tons of firewall options. VPN options nice (have not enabled). Speed is excellent, much faster then the old Linkidink. Smaller then my Cisco 806, more features and overall nicer. Fits in to Leviton Integrated Networks home system cabinet nicely. Many routing options. Have not had to reboot so far. Been running for about 4 months troublefree on 5 computer network.

Cons: Ugly D-Link colors (puke). no included wall mount bracket. Only seems to allow 3 or 4 concurrent thread max download from single IP (Strange limitation). Web interface can be a little confusing because of the layout and amount of options. Beginners could have problems with this.

Overall Review: Over all, this router completely satisfied all my needs for an 8 port wired router/switch that fits in to my networking cabinet and allows me trouble-free operation.

Very nice

BenQ FP241W Black 24" 6ms(GTG) DVI Widescreen HDMI LCD Monitor 500 cd/m2 1000:1
BenQ FP241W Black 24" 6ms(GTG) DVI Widescreen HDMI LCD Monitor 500 cd/m2 1000:1

Pros: Awesome picture quality in native resolution as well as others. Nice footprint for the size of the monitor, substantial monitor stand. Seems to be a sturdy unit. Does not wobble or shake if desk moves. Bright, but not shining my eyes out as some have said. Default color settings are excellent for everyday computing and gaming. No notice of color bleed. Refresh rate is excellent (no tearing and ghosting). Very High quality. Comes with a DVI cable, VGA and Power cable. Internal PSU, no need for wall wart or cable wart. Nice portrait tilt option. HDMI input.

Cons: extremely short power cable. Monitor control buttons on the side of monitor. Height adjustments may not be enough for some, although I have had no issues with this. Monitor source switching is automatic and somewhat slow. No 1:1 pixel mapping without sending Monitor BACK to the manufacturer or service center to have NON-User friendly firmware upgrade performed. No optical output for HDMI (puzzling to me...).

Overall Review: Overall this monitor is probably the coolest thing that I have purchased in a long long while. The picture quality is outstanding. Although I have not used this monitor for proper color matching, I would imagine that with the installed software color correction options are a plenty. I had planned on hooking up my PS2 via Component cables to this monitor, but it looks like complete P00-P00. beware if you plan to do this w/out Firm update .
