Perfect balance for non SLI

Pros: Everything I wanted. Nothing I didn't want. SATA II, Vista 64 Home Premium installed without a hitch. Bios updated flawlessly. Provides a nice bit of future proofing for the dual-core to quad-core path.
Cons: None, Nada. Zip.
Overall Review: Got all this mostly from NewEgg - for my son (after ordering a pre-built gaming box over the net from some configurator companhy that didn't work and had to be returned). Configured with Intel 8600 cooled by a Thermaltake CL-P0310 120mm CPU Cooling Fan, 4GB OCZ RAM, EVGA Geforce 280, ThermalTake ToughPower 700 W PSU, Western Digital VelociRaptor 10,000 RPM SATA II drive, LG SATA DVD/CD. All packed into a CoolerMaster Cosmos S case. As mentioned above, Vista 64bit H.P. Plays Crisis 64 at full settings with 32 fps during action, 62 fps during non-action (like running around). I've built systems in the past, this was an exercise to prove to my nagging wife that ordering from a gaming machine builder company is a waste of time. My order from NewEgg combined with a little local shopping produced a box that had about the same or better specs at an $800 savings. Thanks NewEgg!
Solid choice

Pros: Using with LG Voyager and used previously with Samsung Alias. Seems to sound better with the Voyager (just due to higher quality of the phone). Paired up very easily with both phones. Very comfortable - could wear it all day (and have done so several times) without ear fatigue. Nice large surface for activating a call.
Cons: First one I bought (directly from Verizon desk at a higher price than Newegg) would not hold a charge when turned off for 8 hours or more. Replacement doesn't have that problem.
Overall Review: Would recommend it. Supposedly it has wind noise reduction, but some pro reviews have said the feature does not work as well as advertised. Haven't really tested the feature. I liked it so much that even when the first one was defective, I replaced it with the same model.
Replaced a 6000+ X2 - Runs Great!

Pros: Fastest model in the X2 line, price from Newegg was great, recieved it overnight.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: M2n32 SLI Dlx, EVGA 7950 512mb SLI, 2GB RAM, XP Pro. I got this because the AMD 6000+ X2 cpu was running close to 100% in-game. Whenever it pegged briefly at 100% the game would have graphic and sound stutter. The 6400+, being about 7% faster, reduced CPU percentage by a corresponding 7% and gave enough headroom to run UT III, Jericho, TimeShift, etc with no stutter at all. Thus I've bought some system life extension until the next gen of faster, cooler cpus come out. But that is another NewEgg order altogether.
Runs Great Vista Home Premium

Pros: DX10 compatible, fast, came with Crysis, runs other resource intensive games (UT III, Jericho, etc) just fine. Got the Vista Prem. combo deal.
Cons: None to speak of. If you find it a bit pricey, well, this is the coste tof feed your gamiing addiction.
Overall Review: Asus M2N 32 SLI Dlx, 2GB RAM, AMD 6000+ X2, Sound Blaster Audigy XFi Gamer. 650 W Power Supply. This board replaced an EVGA 7950 512mb board (which I put into a 2nd similar system to convert it to a 7950 SLI system). All I can say is that the single 8800GTX runs better than the 7950 SLI in identical mb, same RAM. (The SLI box even has AMD 6400+ X2). If you have an AMD processor, be sure to download the Dual Core Optimizer. If running Vista, you will need to download a patch from Microsoft that addresses Dual Core issues in games.
