Horrible!!! Until You Get The Ralink Drivers
Pros: Inexpensive wireless N Ralink 3060 chip card.
Cons: Horribly old drivers that come with this card. This card has the Ralink 3060 chip so do yourself a big favor and before you rule it out, try and send it back (not worth the price, you might as well just keep it), or throw it in the trash like some here have done... go to www.ralinktech.com and get the latest 3060 chip drivers and they totally redeem this card.
Overall Review: To the Rosewill rep thats trying to help everyone out and save face regarding your brand and this network card... Have your engineers get the latest Ralink 3060 drivers for this card and provide it instead of the out-dated junk ones you bundle with it and you wouldn't see so many disappointed, upset customers.
Decent Memory
Pros: This memory works just fine and right from the get-go. And for the price it's hard to beat.
Cons: I was disappointed to see one of the sticks I recieved was missing a clamp that held the heat spreader onto the memory. Also the heat spreader appeared to be reversed on one of the sticks (probably the one missing the spreader clamp), so when the memory is inserted the logos were opposite each other and not uniform like they should be. This just makes me wonder if what I got might have been slightly used and the previous owner was messing with it, or more a quality control issue. I'm thinking about RMA'ing but it seems to work fine so not sure if I'll bother but still disappointing none-the-less.
Overall Review: For the price this memory is a steal, and even though one of the sticks I received was a bit 'off,' I'd still buy it again.
Disappointed
Pros: Allows one to replace the internal wireless card and avoid having to use a USB or PCMCIA card making it more of a seamless, unobtrusive upgrade.
Cons: First off it didn't physically fit, meaning the pins lined up correctly as it should have but it was too long to snap into place. After breaking out the Exacto knife and literally cutting out a chunk of the laptops casing i was able to finally make the card fit. Upon booting Windows it was promptly found and the drivers were installed. However I wasn't able to see any wireless networks (yes I hooked up the laptops internal antenna). I then tried the original card, worked fine and saw wireless networks. Hooked the new card back up again and still no wireless networks could be seen. Tried swaping the antenna cords and still nothing. Tried various different drivers and still no wireless networks were seen.
Overall Review: Perhaps I just had a bad card as everything pointed to this thing should be working. Windows saw it, the antennas were hooked up, tried different drivers, and still no networks were seen. I gave up and ultimately got a USB wireless N device and called it a day.
Awesome!!!
Pros: Awesome! Tears through everything I throw at it and is hungry for more. Doubled my frame rates in UT3 from my 4200+ X2 using the same 8800gt.
Cons: Wish the Mhz was higher; but the price reflects its lower clock speed and honestly, I haven't found anything that'll slow it down yet.
Overall Review: It's 4 processors in one and enough to make anyone drool, especially for how inexpensive it is. I love seeing the 4 CPU meters in Task Scheduler, and you will too if you pick one up.
rta is Correct... Now
Pros: rta is correct... NOW. Looks like Biostar goofed on their web site with this boards specifications as the mention of DDR2 1066 support definately was not there when I purchased it but looks like they have since corrected it. BTW at the time of this writing Newegg still shows 800 as the memory spec. I did find it a bit odd that it wouldn't have the 1066 support with such a new board but hey, the price was certainly right that I was willing to sacrifice that feature. Besides 1066 memory is roughly twice as expensive as 800 memory so I would have chosen 800 memory anyway had I known better.
Cons: None... now that we now know DDR2 1066 memory is indeed supported I can't find much wrong with this board.
Overall Review: More cool features I forgot to mention in my initial review was it has a great memory tester utlity built into the bios and some good auto-overclocking abilities.
Great Board
Pros: Don't let the price fool you, this is a fantastic board. Its very solid and very well built. Fully featured for Phenom and PCIe 2.0 video cards. I gave my board a Phenom, an 8800gt, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB SATA drive and it all worked right from the get-go. The BIOS is also loaded with features down to the smallest detail/tweak, along with great overclocking utilities. Overall a very pleasant board to work with.
Cons: No DDR2 1066 support but I'll/you'll live and save some money at the same time.
Overall Review: How can they sell such a great board for such a low price?
