Glitchy, but works very well

TRENDnet TK-240DP 2-Port Dual Monitor DisplayPort KVM Switch with Audio, 2-Port USB 2.0 Hub, 4K UHD Resolutions Up to 3840 x 2160, Connect Two DisplayPort Monitors, Dual Monitor KVM Switch, Black
TRENDnet TK-240DP 2-Port Dual Monitor DisplayPort KVM Switch with Audio, 2-Port USB 2.0 Hub, 4K UHD Resolutions Up to 3840 x 2160, Connect Two DisplayPort Monitors, Dual Monitor KVM Switch, Black

Pros: - Works with gsync - USB hub lets me use 1 pair of headphones for 2 computers - No input lag - 180 FPS from my Mac Mini through TB3 -> HDCP as well as my PC - scroll lock + scroll lock + arrow hotkey for switching inputs rules - Being a hardware solution means I can login to either of my machines on reboot without having to plug in a keyboard and mouse to start some peripheral sharing software - Very well-built piece of hardware, this thing is a tank.

Cons: - My RGB keyboard randomly freezes, requiring unplug/plug to fix - My mouse stops responding; unplug/plug to fix - My headphones sometimes start popping loudly; unplug/plug - Mac Mini's display sometimes goes black, requiring a power cycle on the KVM - Power cycling and cable jiggling means I can't really hide the KVM under my desk like I wanted - Expensive!

Overall Review: I've tried a few sets of cables with this and found my peripherals sometimes just die. It happens like once a day and sometimes in the middle of using it. Still, the benefits are absolutely worth the hassle. I want 1 monitor and set of peripherals on my desk so I can use my Mac Mini for productivity and development and easily switch to my gaming PC with just a key press. It's less glitchy and error prone than virtual KVM solutions like Synergy. If you want to use a KVM to share a high refresh rate monitor between a Mac and a gaming rig, this does the job very well.

Great way to add a second screen to a 2018 Mac Mini

Tripp Lite U444-06N-HD4K6B USB-C to HDMI 4K External Video Adapter (M/F), Thunderbolt 3 Compatible, 4K x 2K (4096 x 2160) @ 60 Hz, 6 in.

Pros: Small, well-built, connection feels very secure

Cons: You have to push surprisingly hard to get this to seat in a USB-C connection. It's also kinda pricey.

Overall Review: I needed a second screen for my Mac Mini and opted for something that would use native TB3 so I could upgrade to a 4K display some day. This is doing the job just fine :)

Works with 180Hz display and Mac Mini

Tripp Lite USB C to DisplayPort Adapter Cable USB 3.1 Locking 4K USB-C 3ft
Tripp Lite USB C to DisplayPort Adapter Cable USB 3.1 Locking 4K USB-C 3ft

Pros: - Plug and play

Cons: - Kind of a long plug on the displayport side, so plan for that if you're installing the display port side into a tight spot.

Overall Review: I'm thrilled with how well this cable works! It lets me use an HDCP KVM switch with my gaming PC so I can swap between the two without having to mess with input toggling on my monitor.
