Another Assume Ryzen APU
Pros: - Vega 8 iGPU (frequency and voltage can be +/- adjusted BIOS/Ryzen Master) - PBO mode works flawlessly - Manual OC to 4.7GHz (all cores) with just adjustment of via BCLK or multiplier - 65W TDP (Has ecomode for nearly half that consumption)
Cons: - Not PCIe 4.0!!!! - Included Wraith Cooler
Overall Review: Mated to ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Pro Wifi. Wraith cooler is only sufficient for this APU if left in standard settings, case is well ventilated and no RAM sticks in the adjacent slot (it dumps heat directly on the adjacent RAM, causing errors. Utilizing Veetro V5 5 heat pipe air cooler with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme 14,2 W/m*K thermal paste. CPU is quick and agile at standard Turbo and PBO setting speeds. iGPU can be configured +/- voltage/frequency. 2300MHz is rock solid without any voltage adjustment. BCLK at 102.00MHz is fairly stable. With GSkill F4-3600C19D-16GB clocked at 3983MHz with stock DRAM voltage, system reached well above the average on numerous CPU and graphics benchmarks. That was, until Windows loaded new Microsoft WHQL drivers (without my knowledge), which crashed the system, causing a BIOS wipe. I put everything back in place, but no longer benchmarking well in that OC configuration.
Worked, Then It Didn't
Pros: - Driverless - Instantly recognized and drivers loaded by Win10 - Two-way communication
Cons: - Popular music software MIDI interface had issue seeing, then configuring - Stopped working after it was finally recognized by the software
Overall Review: I have yet to try on another computer. When I do, I will update this review if there has been any success. I knew this was a low price point. Testing the waters before spending the money on a true MIDI interface. To the company's credit, they were in communication with me, offering me assistance on resolve the interface issues. They offered to replace this one, but I was logistically unable to do so.
Best On The Market
Pros: - Come with mounting hardware (fan screws) - Magnetic for alternate and/or quick removal installation - Great for covering up flat vents on PC case that has no filter - Comes in multiple sizes - Has some flexibility, but holds flatness well - Super easy to clean - Negligible effect on CFM or dB - Filters all but small micron particles
Cons: - None
Overall Review: Perfect for keeping cases/fan blades clean.
Replaced On Dell Latitude E6500 Bagel Warmer
Pros: - Sturdy material that holds shape well when put under compressive force of heatpipe copper GPU pad on Dell laptop - Reduces temperatures that I was currently experiencing
Cons: - Limited reuse
Overall Review: OEM thermal pad was worn out, so my temperature reduction seen on the Intel GPU die of MB has to include this as a reduction factor. All in all, temps dropped by about 8C. Would recommend for older or regular use laptops, where thermal pads are utilized.
Strong/Stable Power
Pros: NOTE: Two manufacturer models under the C750 Gold + designation. This review is for the latter manufactured PA-7G1B model High quality thru and thru - Zero Fan Mode - Mechanical push button switch in back - Quiet even with ZF turned off - Powerline off/on switch - Fully modular - Short chassis length
Cons: - Included PSU cables are quality, but utilitarian in design - All three PCIe cables are bridged 2+6 cables. Makes for ungainly, bulky setup - NZXT offers no PSU upgrade cables for their PSUs - Highly subjective per individual, but no ARGB fan
Overall Review: Good clean looks, that provides clean, stable power, with Gold + efficiency. Designed to work perfectly with NZXT's awesome cases. Power output has been rock solid during heavy gaming and benchmarking of B650 ASUS MB, Ryzen 7 7700X and ASUS Dual Radeon 6700XT OC 12G and Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000MHz C36 (2x16GB). Fan operation is much quieter that the leaf blower on the NZXT E850 in my other build. In fact, I have yet to hear it. Fan does move air.
AMD Is Still Top Dog
Pros: - Latest 7000 Series - Stable 5.4MHz right out of the box - Does not get as hot (normal usage), as early online reviews stated. - Functions well with CPU air cooled heatsinks with minimum 150W TDP - Overclocks easily with Ryzen Master, BIOS, of MB manufacturer software
Cons: - APU - 95C during some benchmarks and burn-in testing
Overall Review: First time utilizing this new style clamping system. Very counter-intuitive putting that much pressure on the clamping system to close. Furthermore, applying thermal paste has an extra level of complexity with slotted IHS, aka 'Straw Hat'. (Yes, I coined that). I am running my tried and true Vetroo V5 air-cooled CPU heatsink. With such, these are my average thermal scenarios: Full idle ~ Low to mid 40s C Idle (Windows background processes) ~ 57C Full (Deep) virus scan ~ 63C Gaming with Ultra settings (Space Engineers, GoG, Fallout4, TABS-G) ~ 69C Benchmarks can range from 49C (SPUID) to 95C on the more intensive benchmarks Burn-in - 95C The APU on this Ryzen was unexpected, as AMD broke their naming conventions and the Newegg item page was devoid of this. Fortunately, it does not have the 5000 G series APU limitations on PCIe_1/NVMe_1 performance. The APU is rather lackluster in specs/performance, but can be utilized as a secondary display resource that is separate from the GPU resources. Should be good for a systems detail LCD panel or chat/stream display
