9 Years!

Linksys WRT54GL 802.11b/g Wireless Broadband Router up to 54 Mbps/ Compatible with Open Source DD-WRT (not pre-load)
Linksys WRT54GL 802.11b/g Wireless Broadband Router up to 54 Mbps/ Compatible with Open Source DD-WRT (not pre-load)

Pros: Router has served me well for 9 years and it's still running just fine! Day in and day out, it works...but I finally had to order its replacement:(..see cons...

Cons: It simply can't surpass 25Mbps downloads either wired or wireless..I now have 50Mbps cable access, but this router just can't handle it..when I hardwire from the modem to my PC, I hit 57Mbps...connect through the router and it drops to the low 20's. The higher speed is also causing the router to crash leaving me with 0Mbps until I reboot the router and modem. I haven't canceled my 20Mbps DSLyet, so I hooked up the router that it works fine...back to cable and it crashes now and then..

Overall Review: If your access speed is below 25Mbps, you'll be fine...but if you want to go really fast...it just won't do the job.

Great Value Board & A+ Tech Support

ECS VX900-I (v1.0A) VIA L2007 (1.6G, 800MHz) VIA VX900 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo
ECS VX900-I (v1.0A) VIA L2007 (1.6G, 800MHz) VIA VX900 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo

Pros: Small, Fast, Inexpensive, HDMI out. Perfect for building an everyday- driver machine. Had to call tech support...A+..real techs with solid knowledge..solved my issue quickly.

Cons: HDMI out was/is flaky. WinXP install was a nightmare; but eventually sorted it out; see "other thoughts".

Overall Review: -1111-. WinXP must be SP3 at installation; you cannot add SP3 later. If you install a non SP3 version of XP, it will fail...Why?...because support for SATA drives was added in SP3, without SP3, the OS won't recognized the SATA drive and the install stops with a failure code. If your XP is not SP3, do some research on slipstreaming the disk...google it. -2222- I almost never use an "included disk", but for this board, long story short, you must run the disk. -3333- HDMI out is flaky, I had to connect/disconnect the cable several times to get a display...tried different cables, all the same result...no HDMI out?, unplug and reinsert cable until it, hopefully, works...could just be my board though...working fine now...but initially I thought I'd have to RMA.. -4444- It's been up and running for 6 months now...Very satisfied.

Great Basic Phone

Nokia Black/Red Unlocked GSM Bar Phone with Full QWERTY Keyboard / Bluetooth v2.1 (X2-01)
Nokia Black/Red Unlocked GSM Bar Phone with Full QWERTY Keyboard / Bluetooth v2.1 (X2-01)

Pros: Very well built/designed basic phone. >Speaker/ear phone is loud if you need it loud! >Call quality with Walmart Family Mobile (T-mobile) is excellent. >Battery life is A+; 4 days of heavy use before it needs a recharge. I have two, the second is used less often and will go 8+ days without a recharge. >Camera is OK; definitely not high def, but good enough for a quick pic when a real camera isn't handy. Works great for desktop pics and emailing them as the file size is very small (75Kb). >Lots of customization options; including a shortcut bar that you load with your favorites. >Battery charging is quick; dead to full in about an hour and half. >Texting is easy once you get a feel for the layout. >Nokia customer service is EXCELLENT! You call, they give answers. Walked me through setting that the manual poorly covered.

Cons: >owners manual is terrible; no real help with advanced features..you basically have to try and try again to set it up the way you want it. >Depending on how you hold the phone, you may hear your own voice when speaking; sort of like you're talking in a can...but the recipient says it sounds great.

Overall Review: Great phone that handles calls/text extremely well but leaves a lot to be desired as far as web browsing...but hey...it's an $80 phone... Bluetooth works very well. If you want to ditch your landline, but would love to still use the landline phones in your house, buy a Phonelynx to go with this phone...You'll be in heaven!
