Inauspicious start...

Rosewill Stallion Series 500W ATX12V Gaming Power Supply - RD500-2DB
Rosewill Stallion Series 500W ATX12V Gaming Power Supply - RD500-2DB

Pros: Low cost, plenty of plugs, two PCI-e plugs.

Cons: The sata power plugs seem to be made of really thin, cheap plastic and appear unnecessarily fragile. The rest of the plugs appeared fine.

Overall Review: I'm on my second unit as the first was unusable at arrival due to three of the four SATA plugs being broken when I pulled it out of the box. One of the plugs on this second unit appeared to have a hairline fracture in it, but plugged in okay and seems to be holding. I had to get a little creative with my stock HP case to ensure the plugs had minimal to no stress on them, as I didn't want them getting weak and breaking over time. Just something to be aware of if upgrading a stock unit or working in a case with tight corners.

Absolutely stunning!

DIAMOND Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 6770PE51GB
DIAMOND Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 6770PE51GB

Pros: Low cost, brilliant performance. Sure, it's last generation, but it's still a wonderful card, especially for gamers on a budget.

Cons: None that I've found so far.

Overall Review: Be sure to completely uninstall your old drivers before moving up to this card. I failed to follow this most basic of precautions, and spent a lovely 20 minutes working around machine hangs until I got the drivers sorted. It took my video rating in Win7 x64 from 5.2 to 7.1, and Skyrim from the lowest settings to Ultra with no problems whatsoever. I was so stunned by the difference, I couldn't believe I was playing the same game! Physically, this is a substantially sized card, so be sure to measure your case for fit. The tolerances are so narrow in my stock HP case, I'll have to remove this card if I want to upgrade my ram, since the ram catches don't have enough room to release.
