It's a cord

OKGEAR 3 ft. External SATA 6Gbps Round Cable, Black, Backward Compatible with 3 Gbps and 1.5 Gbps
OKGEAR 3 ft. External SATA 6Gbps Round Cable, Black, Backward Compatible with 3 Gbps and 1.5 Gbps

Pros: Works, fast. On an old 500 GB western digital mybook I get about 60 MB/s.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Before you give up thinking that it does not work, make sure you have enabled AHCI on your motherboard. Also, windows will give you the blue screen of death if you did not install it with AHCI enabled. However, you can modify the registry if you did not install windows with it enabled.

Good for the price, dated now.

PNY VCGGTX260CXPB GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: Got it on sale for $160. Cooling seems great, max temp was 76 C in a 85 F room. Idles at around 43C.

Cons: I think the GTX 460 now outclasses this card for only $20. It will increasingly becoming irrelevant.

Overall Review: If it was still priced at $160 it would probably still be a ok deal, but the profit margins are probably zilch at that price.

Great board

GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: It's a great board if you don't want to overclock or crossfire/SLI. The number of connections on the back port is amazing..... 2x eSATA 2x USB 3.0 along with all of the audio connections one could possibly want.

Cons: Gigabyte, why are none of your boards a standard form factor? This board says that it is ATX, but it is too short to reach the last 3 standoffs. It also has another hole next to the ram where there are no stand off holes in the case! It also isn't FLEX ATX either, so I don't know how gigabyte comes up with it's system. I have another board from the 700 series that was the same way.

Overall Review: Docked an egg for the form factor issues. Last build: AMD Phenom II X4 945 GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB PNY VCGGTX260CXPB GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W NZXT Hades Crafted Series

It's a reliable powersupply

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply & New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It works and leaves plenty of power for upgrading (within reason). I've used 2 of these on AMD builds and have not had a problem.

Cons: None

Was going to crossfire, but never have.

Nice case but missing a foot

NZXT Hades Crafted Series HADE-001BK Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
NZXT Hades Crafted Series HADE-001BK Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Lots of fans that are quiet -Nice back panel for hiding wiring. -I like this case better then the Cooler Master CM690 that I used for my last build. -Hard drive installation uses an old rail system (not tool less), however I find I prefer this. -Got it for a great price... $65 with a $20 rebate (haven't gotten the rebate yet, but it takes 14 weeks)

Cons: -It came missing a rubber foot. Not worth sending it back for, so I just set it up on some soundproofing blocks. -Instructions give no guidance on setting up the fan controller. However, its hard to tell that it does anything. Only way I could tell that it worked was that the front led light dimmed when I turned it down.

Overall Review: Docked an egg for the missing foot, otherwise I would have gave it 5 star. System: AMD Phenom II 945 C3 GTX 260 Core 216 PNY Western Digital Black -500GB CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3

Western Digital Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Dual processors, and longer warranty then the blue.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Got it on sale for $50. Otherwise, I'd look at the 640gb model.
