Great Prints, Cheap!

HP Officejet 6700 Premium Up to 34 ppm Black Print Speed 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality Ethernet (RJ-45) / RJ-11 / USB / Wi-Fi Thermal Inkjet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer
HP Officejet 6700 Premium Up to 34 ppm Black Print Speed 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality Ethernet (RJ-45) / RJ-11 / USB / Wi-Fi Thermal Inkjet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer

Pros: Price = Cheap Build Quality = Solid Print Quality = Dependable, Great Scan Quality = Better than other combo printers I have had Copy Quality = This is a copy??? Functionality = Novice would take a little to get used to the settings on the printer itself. Other than that it is very straightforward.

Cons: When the printer is in sleep mode and I print it sometimes does not want to wake. This has only happened 2 times, but I found it very odd. I tried to re-create the issue, however it seems intermittent.

Overall Review: I purchased this printer for a friend, I also set it up for him, I tested the printer and used it a few times. I would purchase this printer for myself if my printer ever dies.

Most Critical Review

Died about 1 Year after purchase

OCZ Vector Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC VTR1-25SAT3-256G
OCZ Vector Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC VTR1-25SAT3-256G

Pros: It was fast when it worked.

Cons: Drive died abot a year after the purchase, only RMA'ing it now as I lost it for a while (it was still mounted in an old case)

Overall Review: I have used other OCZ products with no issue, I have a feeling that this drive is simply prone to errors.

Works Flawlessly

SanDisk Extreme 32GB SDHC UHS-I Flash Card - Class 10 45MB/S
SanDisk Extreme 32GB SDHC UHS-I Flash Card - Class 10 45MB/S

Pros: Great card, using it in my d5200 and not noticing any issues with waiting for image to write to card. HD video records full without any hiccup, plugging it into my laptop the files transfer off of the card SUPER FAST.

Cons: none

Overall Review: I dont really even fill up the card half way, I recently bought another 16gb in this same make and model, It works the same but with half the storage. I paid about the same for the 2 cards as I bought the 16gb at retailer out of my area when I realized that I left my 32gb at home in my laptop. I solidly recommend these cards, however I would advise you to think about what your average storage is. It is better to have multiple smaller cards in case something happens to one and you lose the data. Having smaller cards also forces you to be more organized and willing to post-process your images.

Great, Tiny, Strong

Patriot 32GB Tab Flash Drive Model PSF32GTAB3USB
Patriot 32GB Tab Flash Drive Model PSF32GTAB3USB

Pros: Small Lightweight Solid body construction 32GB USB 3.0 The loop on this thumbdrive is built in to the body and is solid metal so there is no need to worry about some cheap plastic breaking. For a drive that is not sold particularly for its speed, it does have some impressive numbers, even in a USB 2.0 port it seems to perform better than some other flash drives that I have (I have MANY flash drives)

Cons: No lanyard included.

Overall Review: I purchased my drive at a retail store with some store credit that I had for about the same price as what NewEgg is offering. I am an independent consultant and I deal with different data for different clients. I keep physical backups of projects for specific clients. Currently I am using microSD cards which are fragile and lack speed. I am seriously thinking of switching to these because of the speed and rigidity. Also the data stored ranges from <1gb to ~20gb depending on the project so these would be perfect.

Perfect for school

Lenovo IdeaPad U310 (59366627) Intel Core i3 4GB 13.3" Touchscreen Ultrabook Graphite Gray
Lenovo IdeaPad U310 (59366627) Intel Core i3 4GB 13.3" Touchscreen Ultrabook Graphite Gray

Pros: This u310 has a very nice visual design, even down to the machined power button. It has 3 USB ports(2@3.0 and 1@2.0) which at this price range is nice to have. The sound quality is great for laptop standards and the speakers push sound out the area where the hinge of the laptop is which then bounces off the screen and it sounds as if the sound is coming out of the screen itself - something that I have seen more and more in mid-grade ultrabooks, but it is a very nice feature. Battery life is great for school, My fiance uses balanced settings and has many programs open and it typically takes about 6 hours of continuous use to drain the battery (which is whats stated in the specs) I believe that you could get 7 hours if you use power saver features. *My estimates may be slightly off due to a new battery and proper charging. it fits the needs of my fiance for both home and school. The u310 has a weight to it though (maybe because im used to my 2.5lb ultrabook) but it feels solid and has no body flex when holding it in one hand by one side of the laptop.

Cons: Touchpad. The touchpad is too sensitive for its own good, if a hair hits it it seems to react. With WIN8 left swipe task switching, my fiance found herself switching between programs on accident all too often. There are fixes for this that require some registry edits, which my fiance does not want to do as she is getting used to it and likes the feature.

Overall Review: When this ultrabook is on sale you will be hard pressed to find an ultrabook in the price range that offers more features or outperforms the u310. When the u310 is not on sale I would still recommend it simply because Lenovo builds quality products and carries their quality from their business class to their consumer models. Higher quality products end up saving you money in the long run. The HDD is only 5400RPM but that is only noticed on installations of larger software packages. I dont believe that Lenovo's factory installation uses the SSD properly, it seems as though there are only Lenovo installation files located on it, however i am unsure if it is using it for cache or even anything at all... If my fiance mentions anything about speed or lack thereof i will then invest some time and investigate Rapid Start, etc to see if the performance is there. Included Software: First off, I strongly dislike any pre-installed software on any system I buy and typically re-install windows as soon as I get a new system... However due to some persuasion from my fiance I did not do this to her ultrabook. It turns out that there are few applications that I needed to remove in order to allow her to use her favorites in place thereof, but the pre-installed package is not overwhelming, nor a resource hog. If you have a touchscreen computer I strongly recommend Office 2013. NewEgg has deals here and there for $20 off of a year subscription, which makes it less than $0.05 per day per computer to have the most up-to-date Office package installed.

Big bang for the buck

ViewSonic 22" LED Monitor 5 ms 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI VA2212M-LED
ViewSonic 22" LED Monitor 5 ms 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI VA2212M-LED

Pros: Monitors are great, no dead pixels (although I have only ever had one monitor with "dead" pixels on arrival which i was able to fix as they were just stuck.). I Love ViewSonic and have used their products in the past. I purchased 2 of these monitors for my rig and am very impressed with the quality. I am not using the default stands as I have a dual monitor stand that I use instead. The stands are easy to remove and the end look is very clean and professional. Colors are more vivid than I was expecting for a monitor in this price range. PROTIP: Use Cleartype after you set up the computer, it will DRASTICALLY improve the crispness on these monitors, more so than other monitors that I have used in the past.

Cons: The only CON I have is that when I first installed the monitors, text looked slightly fuzzy. It was not a problem at all as once I re-ran ClearType the text is almost as crisp as on my Nexus 10. (Monitors are 25-29" viewing distance) To run cleartype on windows (im in windows 7) go to your start menu and type "cleartype", or from cmd/run run "cttune.exe"

Overall Review: The overall value and quality of these monitors is something that I enjoy. When I spend money I want to spend it right, and with this purchase I could not have asked for anything better. I may end up purchasing one more and upgrading to 3 monitors!
