Great
Pros: Fast, easy setup, reasonably quiet
Cons: Fan sometimes stays on in sleep mode, benchmarks suggest there may be a hit of some level
Overall Review: I paired this eGPU up with a NUC Skull Canyon (mounted on the back of a monitor to keep it out of the way). My goal was to get a small, quiet upgrade suitable for gaming and this fits the bill. Happy with the purchase! Make sure you have a Thunderbolt 3 port or this won't make any sense for you!
Error with code, waiting on support
Pros: Nice added benefit with purchase of a Radeon 7850 card, or would have been if in fact it was honored as the promotion said it would be.
Cons: Code didn't work. It produced an error that said "This unique ID has already been sent a beta code", whatever that means. The other two games that were included worked fine. AMD support initially responded asking for proof of purchase and a scan of the card, and have since not followed up, despite three additional requests from me on updates, etc.
Overall Review: I was impressed that the initial response from AMD was quick and appeared ot be helpful. I sent what they asked and was rewarded by an overwhelming silence. I have followed up repeatedly and still nothing. Very unbecoming for AMD, and will make me think twice before purchasing their products (of any kind) in the future. I will update this review if they ever follow up and help their customer.
Works well
Pros: Card works very well. Overclocked to 1125 with no issues, heat not a problem (though case has good cooling). Games like WoW, Skyrim, FC3, etc. all run fine And fast.
Cons: Headaches with the free games were an annoyance. Specifically, the Deus Ex game came with a bad code, which resulted in many e-mails back and forth and waiting. In the end, though, AMD customer service stepped up and resolved it.
Overall Review: Overall very happy with this card. Big bang for teh buck, free games, and teh performance has been great.
Works well
Pros: Works well, looks good, does what it's supposed to.
Cons: Installation was a bit of a pain, but nothing insurmountable.
Overall Review: Overall, it wasn't obvious which card reader / USB 3.0 hub to get. Each seemed to have pros and cons. Other than a somewhat clunky install, though, I haven't regretted this at all. Fast, simple look, easy setup. As the other reviewer said, I've seen no issues with slow start-up or anything like that either.
Liking this board
Pros: Fast, easy setup, no issues. Overclocks like a champ.
Cons: None noted
Overall Review: Lots of choices in mainboards, and like others I labored over the brands and levels for a while. Finally pulled the trigger on this board as a good balance of quality, price and features, and it's been smooth sailing so far (1 month in).
It works well
Pros: Does what it's supposed to
Cons: None noted
