Tweakers Dream

ASUS Rampage III Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Rampage III Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: A plethora of BIOS options, Remote tweaking built-in ROG Connect and RC Bluetooth allowing O/C with PDA, or notebooks. USB BIOS Flashback. LN2 mode and a Q reset that addresses cold boot problems, Quality all over the board RDS MOSFETs and lower ESR solid capacitors. Eight phases on the CPU three phases for QPI/DRAM power three phases for PCH (x58) three phases for memory I can go on and on. Easily overclocked this board to 4GHZ using I7-930 and had it prime95 stable.

Cons: BIOS is a little premature but nothing that held back my goal which was to hit 4GHZ. The unusal 4 pin Molex connector locations for Multi GPU may cause a little issue with cable managment.

Overall Review: The board is up there in price but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.

Cool & Fast

ASUS GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card MATRIX GTX580 P/2DIS/1536MD5
ASUS GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card MATRIX GTX580 P/2DIS/1536MD5

Pros: Out of the box O/C of 816 core 4008 memory. Idle temps of 30 degrees C very cool running card & under heavy gaming BFBC2 my temps 62c. Also the fans are almost inaudible with roughly 39db under load which frankly is considered to be silent. Yes it is a 3 slot cooler but going in you know that and if your are not interested in going SLI later than the 3 slot design make 0 difference. I was able to O/C my core to 920 without any additional voltage & I reached 940 with 1150mv. The matrix lighting led load indicator is also a nice touch.

Cons: Well.... the price but its a very loaded card and a lot of out of the box value. 3 slot cooler but again if your not going SLI who cares.

Overall Review: This card runs silent and fast the fastest GTX580 I have had the pleasure of using the MSI lighting is nice and also fast but this card just has more tech sexiness.

Great Temps

ZALMAN VF3000F(GTX480) VGA Cooler with dual 92mm fans, Fan Mate 2, Super Thermal Grease, IHD technology, Nvidia Fermi GTX480
ZALMAN VF3000F(GTX480) VGA Cooler with dual 92mm fans, Fan Mate 2, Super Thermal Grease, IHD technology, Nvidia Fermi GTX480

Pros: lowered my Temps on EVGA GTX480 SC from 46c to 35 idle. lowered Temps on BFBC2 from 92c to 65c load. Incredible ability to lower temps both idle and loads Fan on high is quieter than the stock fan on low. My room no longer feels like I have the heater on. Very easy install removing the stock cooler is harder than the actual install of the Zalman cooler. This cooler allowed me to O/C my GTX480 to 875/2100 without any voltage modifications and is stable as a rock during 3 hour plus BFBC2 gaming sessions.

Cons: For some the heat-sinks size maybe a problem otherwise it does what it advertise it will do LOWER TEMPS SIGNIFICANTLY.
