Toshiba Really Hit the Mark

TOSHIBA Laptop Satellite X205-SLi6 Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.50GHz) 3GB Memory 400GB HDD NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8600M GT 17.0" Windows Vista Ultimate
TOSHIBA Laptop Satellite X205-SLi6 Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.50GHz) 3GB Memory 400GB HDD NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8600M GT 17.0" Windows Vista Ultimate

Pros: The feature list is impressive and the unit is well built. It comes with rubber feet on it that give it the clearance it needs to get good air flow, the HDTV Tuner works like a dream with Windows Media Center, and the fingerprint reader is covered with a sheet of thick plastic to protect it. With WSXGA+ screen resolution, dual video cards, dual cores, and dual hard drives this unit works very well for my multimedia editing and digital modeling.

Cons: I don't really have any cons for this unit, but I did have to uninstall a good deal of software when I got this (I really don't need Google Desktop enough to put up with four processes running in the background).

Overall Review: This unit is great for traveling and comes with a one year global warranty after registration.

Easy on the Wrists

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

Pros: This keyboard has proven to be easy on my wrists and the palm rest is nice/made of durable material. When writing code or reports for long periods of time this keyboard offers enough support to keep my hands form getting tired or wrists from getting sore quickly. Also the curved key design makes some keys more accessible and ergo increased my typing speed.

Cons: On the down side though it did take a little while to get used to the key layout of an ergonomic keyboard. Also it is not easy to transport this keyboard because it is not flat.

Overall Review: Works great with Vista and it will indeed run on Ubuntu without the driver software.

Looks Cool, Cools Well

NZXT Black Aluminum Notebook cooler w/ 3 120mm adjustable fans CRYO-001B
NZXT Black Aluminum Notebook cooler w/ 3 120mm adjustable fans CRYO-001B

Pros: This unit comes with five USB ports, and a DC power slot. It includes two cables: one USB to DC and one USB to USB. Also the unit comes with a dial to set the fan speed. It cools my dual core, dual video card, dual hard drive laptop well enough to keep the internal fans from kicking on even after four hours of ripping CDs. This unit is really worth the cost.

Cons: I wouldn't recommend this unit to use while in transit because it is a little uncomfortable on the lap.

Overall Review: Really really worth the cost.

Great for Ready Boost

Patriot Xporter XT Boost 4GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model PEF4GUSB
Patriot Xporter XT Boost 4GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model PEF4GUSB

Pros: The unit works quite well for ready boost and does not overheat during periods of long use. It works well, it is rather large, and it is inexpensive.

Cons: Not really a big deal but the cap is not attached to the unit. All in all though this is not really a con for me because I don't travel with it much.

Overall Review: Patriot is a good brand and this unit works very well for ready boost functionality. I think I might buy a second one to run Ubuntu off of.

Right Size and Great Storage

Targus 17.3 Rolling Travel Laptop Case - TCG717
Targus 17.3 Rolling Travel Laptop Case - TCG717

Pros: This bag easily accommodates my Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi6 and all my accessories. The overnight bag is very useful and it works great for travel. Best of all, the bag also fits most airline's carry on size requirements.

Cons: The zippers are not entirely metal, but neither do they look like they will break in the near future.

Overall Review: The bag is set up with a telescoping handle for rolling, a handle to carry it, and also comes with a shoulder strap. All in all its the best bag I found in my month of shopping.
