Nice deal on an upgradeable router

Pros: Gigabit switch. Firmware upgradeable to DD-WRT or Tomato-USB
Cons: None yet - it's only been a week
Overall Review: I’ve only had my WNR-3500L running for about a week, after loading Tomato-USB firmware on it in a two-step process. If you want to load DD-WRT, or Tomato-USB firmware , I found the following websites essential for study: http://www.myopenrouter.com http://www.dd-wrt.com http://www.tomatousb.org 1. A refurbished 3500L comes in several “flavors,” and what you get definitely constrains your choices about what firmware version you can use. Mine is a straight 3500L. Myopenrouter.com is probably the site that has the clearest focus on WNR-3500L differences, how to recognize them, etc. 2. www.dd-wrt.com covers basics of firmware upgrading the best. The “30-30-30” reset is an essential part of the process - know it cold. Firmware I used: dd-wrt.v24-13309_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR3500L.chk (1) tomato-K26USB-1.28.9054-MIPSR2-beta-Ext.trx (2) Rename the .trx extension to .bin before upgrading
Great CPU - Terrible Packaging
Pros: After some "out of the ordinary" work (see below), 3400+ is running fast and cool. This will be a nice upgrade from my 3000+.
Cons: Shipping box was not full of packing peanuts, and before opening I could tell something was rattling around inside. Once the box was open I found that the small container for the CPU had opened (..it wasn't secured shut) and the CPU had slipped out. I found the processor tucked between some folds in the box with a few pins bent slightly. I took time to slowly straighten the pins (about 5-10 minutes), and was finally successful in getting it into the ZIF socket.
Overall Review: Up to this time I've experienced excellent service from NewEgg. I hope this is not an indication of any "growing pains." NewEgg will still be my vendor of choice for computer parts.
Performing well - as expected

Pros: SSD replaced an older Crucial 64G mSATA drive used in a Lenovo E430 laptop as the Windows boot drive. The need was for more storage capacity. Performance is not noticably faster. I have confidence the reliability will be as good as the Crucial SSD it replaced.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Three year old laptop that serves my needs as well as any 2015 model could - 200G SSD, 16G RAM memory, 500G hyrbrid hard drive, Intel i5 CPU, etc.
Nice boot drive for laptop

Pros: Straight forward installation in a Lenovo E430 laptop. Migrated the boot partition using Paragon Hard Disk Mgr. without difficulty. Win7 WEI score for data transfer rate = 7.9
Cons: None so far (to early to tell)
Overall Review: I've also used this msata card in a SYBA SY-ADA40050 Mini-SATA to 2.5" SATA Adapter with success in a desktop PC.
Great bang for the buck

Pros: Quiet fans allows this card to run cool at 38 - 40C for light work. Windows 7 WEI increased from 4.9 (Radeon 4550) to 5.9, with addition of this card being the only change. No extra power required, as has been mentioned before.
Cons: It's early, but none to speak of so far.
Nice USB adapter

Pros: Good speed and easy installation. Use the "update drivers" method instead of immediately running the installation CD included with the hardware. Based on other comments, I tried the approach of immediately downloading the latest hardware drivers and installing them - without success. Plan B - use the Linksys CD and trying "update" (Control Panel | System) worked like a charm. I also tried using a connecting USB cable to place the adapter more conveniently, and that didn't work. It had to be connected directly to a motherboard USB port to work.
Cons: No major complaints. Great value so far.
