Great G.Skill support after failed 8GB chip
Pros: Works fine on a Z370 Board (ASUS Z370-Plus-Gaming) with Intel Core i7-8700, even if it's not on the QVL list (I was aware of that before purchasing) By default, it is detected as 2133Mhz memory, but I can easily make it run a 2933Mhz by tweaking the XML profile. However, I am not certain if it also has an impact on the processor's heat generation, so I am leaving it at 2133MHz for now until I can make further research on that subject (I am not really noticing any performance change either way).
Cons: - Had one chip fail very soon (maybe a month or two) after installation. Bit of a grief during the period I got BSODs all the time till I finally found out it was because of the said chip.
Overall Review: G.Skill's RMA process turned out to be rather smooth, other than the nuisance of having to pay shipping fees from Canada to US. It took maybe 2 and a half weeks, which is pretty good in my book. I will point out my computer's performance was flawless during the whole period I ran it with a single 8GB chip, and every day performance, including gaming, was the same as ever. Maybe going for 2 x 8GB was a bit overkill for today's needs ;)
It's an SSD .... no suprises
Pros: Works as expected
Cons: Nothing ..
Overall Review: What else is there to say? Five stars unless this drive ends up failing, at which point I'll update my review ...
Silent, nice performance
Pros: - Super silent - Sleek looking - No issues with card itself
Cons: - A little expensive because of miners .... whos to blame?
Overall Review: Really really like this little gem of a vid card. Eventually I'll upgrade to a newer model & hopefully MSI will still be manufacturing similar GPUs ;)
Excellent external drive
Pros: -Small -runs cool -They're designed to be stacked one onto another (unlike the MyBooks)
Cons: USB port only
Overall Review: Make sure you change the partition type if you want to format this drive for the Mac OS (pick the one that is compatible with Intel processors if you got a newer Mac) otherwise you'll get a formatting error when you try to do a Journaled format.
