Overall Review: Paired mine with a MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk. No difficulty OCing to 6000 using the XMP profile.

Quality Throughout

LIAN LI PC-X1000 Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-X1000 Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: From the elegant understated styling, the thick reinforced side panels, the integrated fan controller, the super long leads for the upper panel connectors, the GPU support, to the grommets that line the openings between compartments. Everything about this case exudes quality. This is my second Lian Li case and I'm not disappointed. The design is very versatile. I opted for HDDs in the upper bay and removed the lower HDD cage to make more room for cables. The SSD mounts in the MB compartment are a nice touch for those of us with SSDs. The case structure is quite rigid for its size and light weight. Lots of options for routing wires. There's enough clearance behind the MB tray for the 8 pin power cable though you'll likely need a 12" extension. I used 24" Molex extensions to bring power to the upper bay then Molex to SATA converters. The case is virtually silent on the low fan setting yet cools adequately unless I'm overclocked.

Cons: Obviously the price puts this case out of range of the casual builder. However, If you're building a $2,500+ system and want the best, it's not hard to justify.

Overall Review: Don't know why Newegg calls this a Mid Tower case. It's nearly as tall as my desk.

Worth the money

Intel X25-M Mainstream 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2MH080G2R5
Intel X25-M Mainstream 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2MH080G2R5

Pros: Replaced a RAID 0+1 array consisting of 4 Seagate Barracuda 250 GB drives, (7200.10 ST3250410AS). Before and after, Windows 7 boot time - From pressing the button to usable desktop from 1:30 to 0:45 seconds Windows 7 Experience Index, Disk Data Transfer Rate Score from 6.0 to 7.7 PassMark Disk Mark, Single Barracuda Sequential Read - 79 Mb/S, Sequential Write - 79 Mb/S, Random R/W - 3.9 Mb/S RAID 0+1 Sequential Read - 103 Mb/S, Sequential Write - 103 Mb/S, Random R/W - 8.7 Mb/S Intel X25-M 80 SSD Sequential Read - 246 Mb/S, Sequential Write - 79 Mb/S, Random R/W - 101 Mb/S

Cons: $ per GB Write is slower than my RAID array, though for responsiveness, read speed is all that really matters.

Overall Review: I was surprised to find that it arrived with outdated firmware, 2CV102HA - Updating to current 2CV102HD, (TRIM support), wasn't difficult. Burn ISO image to CD, boot with the CD, run DOS update program. Wow, single best upgrade I've ever done. Glad I went SSD
