Great Video Card
Pros: Replaced a MSI 8800GT with this card, and am extremely pleased with the performance on a Dell 30" monitor. As most of the reviews have stated, this card is easily overclocked, and currently its running at 875 core and 4200 memory at stock voltage. The highest temps posted on a stress test was 72C, but most of the time its around 68C. Applying more voltage did not significantly improve the OC, so for now its staying at stock voltage. What a difference there is between the 8800GT and this card. MS FSX flying is now smooth, even in the dense areas. All other games show a significant improvement as one would expect.
Cons: There is a bit of fan noise when the card is running at 70% on a hot day with the overclock, but its nothing annoying. However no noise can be heard when its running at stock speeds.
Overall Review: Almost got a 470 a week ago, but held off the purchase pending the reviews of the new 460 cards. It was a good decision, as this card exceeds my expectations. Runs cooler, uses less power, smaller size, and with the OC can keep up with the 470 on a lot of games. For the price, you can't go wrong.........get one.
Pros: This card does offer good performance, plays many games with enough power to turn up the graphics options
Cons: The fan is stuck at 100%, it sounds like a mini hair dryer has made its home in my usually quiet Antec Solo case.
Overall Review: I called XFX tech support, and provided them with the serial nuimber from the card. They confirmed that indeed, this card does not have a variable speed fan, therefore its going full blast all the time. I decided to RMA it, and Newegg was great as usual in providing fast and a very fair RMA for the card. Will try a different brand instead.
Pros: This card runs all the latest games no problem, stable and nice frame rates. Never had any major issues with MSI video cards in the past, and this one is no exception.
Cons: The only con is that this card runs really hot, up to 86 with the fan set to 70% when running a full load. Thats a bit too hot for my taste, and the fan makes a bit of noise at that level.
Overall Review: Decided to take off the reference cooler and install a Artic Accelero Mono Plus, and this did the trick. Temps are not around 60 with the fan speed at 35%. Plus you can't hear the fan noise at all any more. The highest boost speed so far is 1137 since switching out the GPU cooler. Overall a very good video card, even if that meant changing out the cooler.
Pros: Before installing the Arctic Accelero Mono, the MSI 670 reference video card was running 87 degrees with a 70% fan speed. The temp and fan speed was too high, so once the Arctic was installed, the temps dropped down to a max 60 degrees with a fan speed of 35%. Plus you can't hear it now. Fantastic.
Cons: Kinda of funkie looking once installed.
Overall Review: This is the way to go if you video card is running too high of temps and/or the noise level is too high. Easy to install, forget the RAM heatsinks, just go with the GPU fan and heatsink.
It could be cooler
Pros: Upgraded from a MSI GTX 460 and noticed a definate improvement on most of the games played. Running a 30" monitor, and it has not had any problem with the games or applications I have tried. Real pleased with the performance and the price of the card. For a few bucks more, this 670 is a better buy than going for a 660Ti.
Cons: Runs a bit warm. Using MSI Afterburner and setting the fan speed to 65%, the temps vary between 80 and 83C. But it should not be a problem, as the card is rated to run higher than those temps.
Overall Review: I've used MSI video cards exclusively since the GT 8800 came out, and their cards have performed flawlessly. Never a problem with any of them, and for the price and performance, its hard to beat the value of their vid cards. Would recommend this card or one of their other models.
Pros: This Onkyo replaced an older model Onkyo, the 505 which is still working just fine. The newer model, NR515 has exceeded my expectations, as it sounds great playing music, and has a few more features. In particular, streaming Internet radio is a feature the older Onkyo did not have, now I listen every night to Pandora radio or Lastfm. This feature alone was worth the upgrade.
Cons: The manual was a bit confusing in some areas, however having owned a Onkyo before, the set up went just fine.
Overall Review: Overall, very pleased with the unit. Be sure to make sure you download and install the latest firmware. I have not had one problem with any features that some previous users have experienced, so don't some of the previous problems stop you from checking out this receiver. So glad that I upgraded to this unit, its well worth the purchase.
