Overall a good board
Pros: I'm not a gamer nor over-clocker but from the docs and forums I believe this board can be over-clocked easy. I paired with an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ and built one for me and one for my son. He's very happy with his machine. Its got some cool utilities too for backing up your computer after you've installed all programs though its using the 32-bit FAT file system so you have to partition your drive as such.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Mobo should have come with a pack of screws like other manufacturers. Lucky I still have a lot of them from other builds so I did not have to go out and buy some in the cold weather of the midwest.
High defect rate
Pros: Fast and quiet while it worked.
Cons: Died only after four months of use and I don't even use my laptop everyday. Seems to have too many disgruntled users for this model. Might be an engineering defect on this drive.
Overall Review: WD return process sucks. I had opted for the Advanced Replacement but the drive is yet to arrive after more than a week now. The only thing the people there can tell me is an apology. This will be my last WD drive.
Bricked
Pros: Fast
Cons: Failed after 5 months
Overall Review: Worked well for about 4 mo and hten i get error when i power up the machine. Today it died on me.
Not the best
Pros: Cheap and well packaged.
Cons: I just thought that this was slower than my WD 80GB that I also bought from Newegg. The booting process was much faster on that drive and that includes having the same configuration as I had to reinstall all my apps and restore my files.
Overall Review: Maybe this drive has better sustained throughput than the 80 GB but I never tested that.
Economical
Pros: What more can I say? Does the job and my system only goes up to 36 deg. C typical use. No need for those expensive fans because this does the same job at a cheaper price. Unless you have a meter to read the noise decibel level, there's really not much difference. The noise on my PC is due to the power supply fan.
Cons: Nothing to gripe about.
