Sold as a combo with AMD Ryzen 5 5500; bios won't support

Overall Review: I have shopped with Newegg for two decades. This is the first time I have ever had a serious complaint. That said, this is such an egregious issue, I doubt I will waste my time with them again. Plainly put, I bought the motherboard as a combo with a AMD Ryzen 5 5500. Absolutely no where did the offer say you would have to update the BIOS. One problem . . . IT WON'T BOOT. So, I have a slightly working brick at the moment . . . fans go, drives running, lights on, and no post. This was straight up selling a pig in a poke.
Came with free rootkit trojan

Pros: Decent machine for the money, good value save for all the "free" software you have to uninstall to prevent being overly annoyed.
Cons: Not only did it come with a virus, but when I created the recovery disks and re-installed, the virus remained. Turned out the drive came with a rootkit virus (Rootkit.Boot.Pihar.b specifically). Acer's support was following a script, and I'm lucky to have kapersky tdsskiller on hand to clean the drive before putting it in my business.
Overall Review: I normally don't purchase refurbs, and I'm now reminded why. Buyer beware if you don't feel like performing a complete scan upon purchase.
